An electrical isolation apparatus to automatically interrupt main power in advance of its junction to the main electrical panel whenever the main disconnect switch is turned off. A method for retrofitting an existing electrical panel enclosure with an electrical isolation box (EIB) is also disclosed, along with a retrofit kit. The electrical isolation apparatus includes an auxiliary relay resident in the main electrical panel enclosure and actuated by said main disconnect switch. The electrical isolation apparatus also includes the EIB in a second ride-on enclosure attached to the main panel enclosure. The EIB encloses a power contactor with at least one power contactor switch (three for three-phase). The control input of the power contactor is connected through both enclosures to the auxiliary relay resident in the main enclosure for controlling the power contactor. Indicator lights, a voltage monitor, and a reset/test switch panel-mounted on the EIB enclosure are also disclosed for status display. The foregoing avoids any high voltage condition in the main power receptacle after the disconnect is actuated, creating a safer work environment.

Electrical enclosure voltage protection system

A mail sortation system that can process mail, either letter or flat, from random order to delivery point sequence (DPS) order, in a single sortation pass. The system has a first sortation assembly comprising a plurality of individual open-topped receptacles into which mail is received, each receptacle having a trap door for selectively dumping its contents. A second sortation assembly comprises a linearly-translating conveyor positioned beneath the first sortation assembly, and an open topped bin travels along the conveyor to gather mail from the first assembly in a DPS sequence. A third sortation assembly comprises a linearly-translating conveyor arranged parallel to and directly beneath the second sortation assembly, and a plurality of mail bins mounted atop for receiving DPS-sorted batches from the second assembly.

Mail carrier sequencer

A system for automatic positioning, wrapper and strap cutting, wrapper removal, wrapper and strap takeaway, and debundled stack positioning and delivery of bound mail pieces, magazines, catalogs, brochures and other similar flat items (collectively 'bundles') for subsequent sorting and processing, all without damaging the contents within the bundle. Incoming bundles are supported on two supporting plates configured to move horizontally toward and away from each other, and spaced to expose a portion of the bottom surface of the bundle. A cutting device cuts the wrapping and straps on the exposed bottom portion of the bundle, and the supporting plates are moved away from each other to increase the spacing. As the spacing is increased gripping devices atop both supporting plates grab and pull the cat edges of the wrapping, until the bundle falls through to a holding device.

System, apparatus, and method for object edge detection

A bundle handling device is provided that includes a frame, a body, a scoop, a ramp and a controller. The body is mounted to the frame and includes a first opening through which bundles are loaded and a second opening through which bundles are discharged. The scoop and the ramp are mounted to the body. The scoop covers a substantial portion of the second opening, while the ramp covers the remaining portion. The controller is coupled to a plurality of actuators and a plurality of sensors, and controls the rotation of the body, the opening and closing of the scoop and the opening and closing of the ramp, in order to discharge a metered portion of bundles through the second opening.

Bundle handling device

An extended cordless telephone system for communicating information signals from a plurality of telephone lines through a telephone exchange, including a central station and a plurality of remote units. The plurality of remote units may be radio telephone handsets, data sets, and the like. The central station includes a plurality of transceivers, a power combiner, a duplexer, a power divider, and a plurality of radiax cables. The plurality of transceivers transmits and receives the information signals as ACSB signals. Alternatively, the plurality of transceivers may transmit and receive the information signals as spread spectrum signals, using frequency hopping and FSK modulation. The power combiners include a plurality of combiner striplines for impedence matching the plurality of transceivers to an output of the power combiner.
