A method of treating vaginal dryness by administering a vaginal care composition, which includes an effective amount of a vaginal care agent, to vaginal tissue of a user experiencing vaginal dryness. The vaginal care agent may be selected to specifically treat symptoms of vaginal dryness exhibited by the introitus and/or labia, based on the transcriptomic data of skin cells obtained therefrom. In some instances, the vaginal care composition may be applied to introitus and/or labia with a suitable implement configured for such use.

Compositions and methods for treating vaginal dryness

A method for making a skin care composition by identifying connections between cosmetic agents and genes associated with one or more skin aging conditions. A gene expression profile for a control human cell is compared to the gene expression profile a cell exposed to perturbagen to identify the genes which are differentially expressed. The differentially expressed genes are analyzed and arranged into an ordered list of identifiers, which along with other instances create a data architecture.

The invention provides a method for improving hair biology, e.g., hair growth. The method comprises administering to a subject a monoamine oxidase inhibitor and a vasodilator, a zinc salt of a carboxylic acid, a xanthine compound, pyrithione or a salt thereof, saponin, tritapene, crataegolic acid, celastrol, asiatic acid, an inhibitor of 5-alpha-reductase, 1,4-methyl-4-azasteroid, an androgen receptor antagonist, azelaic acid or a derivate thereof, cyclosporin, triiodothyronine, diazoxide, retinoic acid, a prostaglandin analog, aminexil, carnitine tartrate, apigenin, procapil, or adenosine, in an amount effective to achieve a desired effect. The invention further provides a method of reducing or delaying the appearance of an age-related skin imperfection. The method comprises administering to the subject a composition comprising an MAO inhibitor. A kit for improving hair growth also is provided.
