A sleeve and post terminals combination, wherein a single piece sleeve terminal which is slidingly interfaced with a smooth surfaced post terminal for high current circuit applications. The sleeve terminal is formed from sheet metal stock, having an inner sleeve component and an outer sleeve component. The inner sleeve component includes three circumferentially spaced electrical contracts. The post terminal is configured to be snugly received by the inner sleeve component, wherein the three contacts are radially forced against the post terminal. The post terminal preferably has a bullet nose and has a smooth surface. In a preferred environment of operation, the post terminal is connected with a BEDC, and the sleeve terminal is connected with a high current capacity wire.

High current sleeve and post terminals

A miniaturized female electrical terminal (100) having single piece construction which provides positive locking in a sealed system type connector and ability to visually inspect for manufacturing defects, even wherein the outer barrel diameter is less than 1.80 millimeters. The female electrical terminal includes a terminal portion (102), a cable connection portion (104) and an intermediate neck (106) located therebetween. The terminal portion includes an inner barrel (108) which is concentrically located within an outer barrel (110) and connected thereto by a strap (116). A forward end portion of the inner barrel is composed of a first terminal arm (112), a second terminal arm (114) and a portion of the strap, which are annularly arranged to provide a three-point female terminal contact (118). The cable connection portion includes a pair of wire crimp wings (120), a pair of insulation jacket crimp wings (122) at an enlarged diameter area (124), and a neck transition area (126). The intermediate neck is integral with and located between the inner barrel and the neck transition area.

One piece terminal

An electrical connector system including an electrical female terminal an electrical contact portion for making electrical contact with either a round or square type male pin with chamfered corners. The contact portion including first, second and third finger each having a first end connected to a bridge and the second finger having a first end connected an outer barrel portion, and the first and third fingers having free ends. The electrical contact portion is received in and enclosed by the outer barrel portion and so that the other barrel portion has an open end to allow a male pin to be inserted therein and to make electrical contact with the first, second and third fingers. The terminal is a one piece tangless female terminal.

One piece terminal system

An electrical female terminal of a one-piece construction is provided including a contact portion at one end and an attachment portion at an opposite end for attaching the terminal to a cable; the contact portion including a split outer barrel that is attached to the attachment portion by an intermediate neck of reduced diameter; the outer barrel having a pair of longitudinal edges defining the split and an annular lip at its front end defining an entrance for plugging a mating terminal pin into the outer barrel; the contact portion also including a connection strap joined to the outer barrel along the front end of the outer barrel generally opposite the longitudinal edges defining the splits, the connection strap being folded rearward into the outer barrel; and the contact portion further including two spring contact beams juxtaposed by the connection strap, the spring contact beams and connection strap being formed into an inner barrel encircled by the outer barrel, the spring contact beams having front edges extending toward the front end of the outer barrel, and radially spring-biased against the mating terminal pin plugged within the outer barrel.
