A laminated dimpled foil metallic heat shield may have a cylindrical structure with an outer diameter and an inner diameter comprising a first metallic layer defining the outer diameter, an inboard edge and an outboard edge of the laminated dimpled foil metallic heat shield assembly, a second metallic layer defining the inner diameter of the laminated dimpled foil metallic heat shield assembly, and a first dimpled foil layer extending about a first circumference between the inner diameter and the outer diameter.

Systems and methods disclosed herein may be useful for use in a wheel assembly. In this regard, a wheel assembly is provided comprising a wheel base having a side rim disposed about a circumference of the wheel base, and a lock ring disposed within a cavity between the wheel base and the side rim. An air seal may be disposed between the wheel base and the inside surface of the side rim. Lock ring has two non-contiguous surface contacts with the wheel base and two non-contiguous surface contacts with the side rim each enabling various torque paths of lock ring.

System and method for a wheel lock ring assembly

A wheel assembly includes a wheel base and a side rim disposed about the wheel base. A recess is formed on an inside surface of the side rim. A cavity is disposed between the wheel base and the side rim. An air seal is disposed between the wheel base and the side rim. A locking mechanism secures the side rim in position around the wheel base. The locking mechanism is configured to prevent the air seal from disengaging with the inside surface and allowing air to exit the wheel assembly between the wheel base and the side rim when the locking mechanism is properly installed. The locking mechanism is also configured to permit the air seal to disengage the inside surface and allow air to exit the wheel assembly between the wheel base and the side rim when the locking mechanism is not properly installed.

Dual lock ring wheel assembly

Systems and methods disclosed herein may be useful for use in a lock ring assembly. In this regard, a lock ring assembly is provided comprising a wheel base having a side rim disposed about a circumference of the wheel base, an ID lock ring and an OD lock ring disposed within a gap between the wheel base and the side rim. The ID lock ring has two surface contacts with the wheel base and one surface contact with the side rim. The OD lock ring has two surface contacts with the side rim and one surface contact with the wheel base. In various embodiments, the ID lock ring and the OD lock ring are in contact.

A suspension for a motor vehicle comprises a control arm connected to each of a pair of wheels, a torsion bar, and a height actuator. The torsion bar is connected to each control arm, and is rotatable in first and second directions. The height actuator is connected between the torsion bars, and is operable to lower a sprung mass of the vehicle by rotating the torsion bars in the first directions, and to raise the sprung mass by rotating the torsion bars in the second directions. A roll actuator is also connected between the height actuator and the sprung mass.

A brake apply system includes a power booster in which, when released and at-rest, a leg of a stop engages a clip and an extension of a valve body engages the clip so that an annular rib of the valve body is axially spaced away from the stop by a distance G. At the same time, a first valve seat is engaged with a first annular valve element closing a pressure supply conduit off from a variable pressure chamber and a second valve seat is spaced away from a second annular valve element by a distance T, opening the variable pressure chamber to an atmospheric pressure chamber. When the power booster is applied, the second valve seat moves the distance T and engages the second annular valve element closing the variable pressure chamber off from the atmospheric pressure chamber and the first valve seat separates from the first annular valve element opening the pressure supply conduit to the variable pressure chamber. The stop moves against the annular rib of the valve body so that when the pushrod is initially released the second annular valve element moves away from the second valve seat a distance equal to G+T. A pressurized air supply communicates with the power booster and includes a compressor and a dryer. When the compressor is turned off a solenoid valve opens and a quantity of dry air contained in a regeneration reservoir passes through the dryer, regenerating the dryer.

Pneumatic assisted brake apply system

A quick connect and disconnect coupling includes a connetor for housing a fluid conduit. The conduit includes a flexible tube terminating in an upset bead. One or more adjoining O-ring seals encircle the tube adjacent the upset bead. The connector includes a plug for receiving the tube. The plug terminates in an end wall adjacent the O-rings. A first chamfer is provided in the plug end wall. A second chamfer is provided in the upset bead adjacent the O-ring seals. During installation and removal of the connector, the O-rings are compressed and forced into the first and second chamfers to retain the O-rings in place on the tube.
