A port for use in introducing a fluid into an internal fluid chamber includes a plug bore, a valve disposed in the plug bore and a plug. The plug includes one or more seal grooves and a ring seal in each of the one or more seal grooves. The ring seal creates a seal between the plug and the plug bore. The port further includes a positive stop barrier that prevents the plug from being removed from the plug bore.

An electric submersible pump is provided which has improved vibrational characteristics relative to conventional electric submersible pumps. The improved electric submersible pumps comprise an electric motor mechanically coupled to a pumping section. The improved vibrational characteristics of the electric submersible pump are attributed to the presence of one or more rotor bearings selected from the group consisting of herringbone patterned rotor bearings, pressure dam rotor bearings, circumferential groove rotor bearings, and combinations of two or more of any of the foregoing rotor bearings.

Downhole electric submersible pumps with high rotordynamic stability margin

A bearing assembly for use in an electric motor has a temperature-activated stabilizer to reduce vibration. The electric motor has a stator assembly and a rotor assembly and the bearing assembly includes a collar that has an outer diameter that is less than an inner diameter of the stator assembly. The bearing assembly further includes a temperature-activated stabilizer assembly that includes an extensible member positioned within the stabilizer recess. Under a first temperature the extensible member has a first volume and under a second temperature the extensible member expands to a second volume that is larger than the first volume. As the extensible member expands, the extensible member comes into contact with the stator assembly.

A downhole submersible pumping system includes a housing and a bag seal assembly. The bag seal assembly includes a seal bag and a fastening assembly. The fastening assembly is configured to exert a compressive force between inner and outer surfaces of a first end of the seal bag. The fastening assembly may include a first ring attached to the support tube, a second ring and a plurality of fastening members. The first ring may be configured for threaded engagement with the support tube. The second ring is configured for engagement with the first ring.
