A dental cleaning appliance includes a handle and a fluid delivery system. The fluid delivery system includes a nozzle for delivering a burst of working fluid to the teeth of a user, and a moveable fluid conduit which is moveable about an axis relative to the handle. The nozzle is moveable with the fluid conduit, which is biased for movement about the axis in a direction which urges the nozzle against a user's teeth during use of the appliance.

Cleaning appliance

A fluid delivery system for a dental cleaning appliance includes a nozzle for delivering a burst of working fluid to the teeth of a user, and a fluid conduit for conveying working fluid to the nozzle. A body of the nozzle defines a fluid chamber and a channel for conveying working fluid from the fluid chamber to a fluid outlet from the nozzle. The fluid chamber has a tangential inlet for receiving working fluid from the fluid conduit.

A pump assembly for a dental cleaning appliance includes a fluid chamber, a piston, and a drive. Magnets, connected respectively to the piston and the drive, enable the drive to couple to the piston and move it within the fluid chamber to draw fluid into the fluid chamber. A stop prevents the piston from being pulled beyond a stop position so that through continued actuation of the drive the magnets separate to allow a spring to push the piston away from the stop position to urge a burst of fluid from the fluid chamber.

A dental cleaning appliance includes a handle and a fluid delivery system. The fluid delivery system includes a nozzle for delivering a burst of working fluid to the teeth of a user. A contact member for engaging the teeth of the user is moveable relative to the nozzle as the appliance is moved along the teeth of the user. A sensor provides an output which varies with movement of contact member relative to the nozzle. A control circuit actuates the delivery of working fluid to the teeth of the user depending on the output from the sensor.

An attachment for a hand held appliance comprising a body having a wall, a fluid inlet at one end of the wall and a fluid outlet through the wall wherein the fluid outlet comprises at least one slot extending along the wall and wherein the at least one slot is formed by an overlap of a first end of the wall and a second end of the wall. The wall may be formed from at least two plates. A first one of the at least two plates may comprise the first end of the wall and a second one may comprise the second end of the wall. The first of the at least two plates may define a radially inner surface of the slot. The second one of the at least two plates may define a radially outer surface of the slot. The slot may be tangential to the wall.

Attachment for a hand held appliance

A pump assembly for a dental cleaning appliance includes a fluid chamber, a piston, and a drive. The drive rotates a coupling member having two angularly opposed pins. An arm pivotably connected to the piston has a seat for receiving one of the pins to couple the piston to the drive. Through continued rotation of the coupling member, the piston moves within the fluid chamber to draw fluid into the fluid chamber until the second detent contacts the arm to push it away from the first detent to decouple the drive from the piston. This allows a compressed spring to actuate the piston to urge a burst of fluid from the fluid chamber.

A hair care appliance including, a body, a heater, a PCB and a primary fluid flow path extending from a primary fluid inlet into the appliance to a primary fluid outlet out of the body wherein the PCB and heater are in fluid communication with the primary fluid flow path and the PCB is upstream of the heater. A fan unit may be provided and the fan unit is upstream of the heater and may be upstream or downstream of the PCB. A thermal barrier may be provided between the PCB and the heater. The thermal barrier may be in thermal communication with the PCB and functions as a heat sink for the PCB.

Hand held appliance

A dental cleaning appliance includes a handle, a fluid reservoir for storing a working fluid, and a fluid delivery system for receiving working fluid from the fluid reservoir, and for delivering the working fluid to the teeth of a user. The fluid reservoir is delimited by a wall and a movable member which is moveable relative to the wall to vary the volume of the fluid reservoir. An expansion chamber is located adjacent to the moveable member. The volume of the fluid reservoir decreases, and the volume of the expansion chamber increases, as fluid is supplied to the fluid delivery system during use of the appliance.

A dental cleaning appliance includes a handle, a fluid reservoir for storing a working fluid, a fluid delivery system for receiving working fluid from the fluid reservoir, and for delivering a burst of working fluid to the teeth of a user, and an external collar comprising a fluid port, the collar being moveable relative to the handle between a first position in which the fluid port is exposed to allow the fluid reservoir to be replenished, and a second position in which the fluid port is occluded.

A heater for a hand held appliance, the heater comprising a first layer, a second layer and a separator for separating the first and second layers of the heater wherein the separator is a tube. The first layer and/or second layer may be a wire element. The first layer may extend at least partially around and/or partially along the tube. The tube may comprise spacers extending along the tube and radially away from the tube for supporting the first layer. An outer tube may be provided wherein the outer tube extends at least around and along the first layer. The outer tube may extend around and along the tube. An inner support structure for supporting the second layer may be provided. The inner support structure may comprise an inner tube or support wings and the second layer may extend at least partially around the inner tube or support wings.

Heater for a hand held appliance

A surface treating appliance including an electrical influence machine comprising a first non electrically conductive support structure spaced from a second non electrically conductive support structure, at least one of the support structures being arranged to move with respect to the other support structure, and at least two charge collecting points, and further comprising an air turbine for rotating at least one of the support structures.
