A method of open-end spinning textile yarn provides the steps during spinning of feeding fibres to a spinning means acting to twist the fibres fed thereto into a tail end of a yarn and withdrawing from the spinning means the continuously formed twisted yarn, and the further step following an interruption in spinning and preparatory to restarting spinning of applying with the spinning means stopped a longitudinal reciprocating motion to the tail end of the yarn to remove excess twist therefrom.

Open-end spinning machines

A textile yarn processing machine for winding yarn onto a bobbin tube provided with first and second slots angularly spaced around the periphery and extending from one end of the tube, wherein a running yarn, held by a yarn collection means, is engaged in the first and second slots and the tube is placed in the winding position to initiate winding of the yarn onto the tube. A yarn guide is positioned adjacent the end of the tube having the slots therein for guiding yarn withdrawn from the collection means onto the tube as the tube is rotated in the winding direction so as to form a reserve winding.

Textile yarn processing

In the removal of trash and waste from beneath a carding machine the trash and waste is collected on support means positioned beneath the carding elements of the machine and a flow of air is created in a direction to transport the trash and waste on the support means to a waste collection zone by supplying pressurized air to a plurality of spaced nozzles arranged above the support means in such a manner that each of a plurality of preselected groups of rows of said nozzles is supplied with the pressurized air in turn and cyclically.
