A domestic kitchen appliance is provided. The domestic kitchen appliance includes a peltier device having a hot side and a cold side; a hot-side heat-sink attached to the hot side of the peltier device, the hot-side heat-sink configured to remove heat from the hot side of the peltier device and transfer the heat removed from the hot side of the peltier device to a cooking chamber; a cold-side heat-sink attached to the cold side of the peltier device, the cold-side heat-sink fluidly connected to an area to be cooled; and a voltage supply that supplies voltage to the peltier device to cause the peltier device to absorb heat from the cold-side heat-sink into the cold side of the peltier device and to expel heat from the hot side of the peltier device into the hot-side heat-sink. The area to be cooled is outside of the cooking chamber.

Techniques are provided for constructing an appliance door having a metal-to-metal-to-glass bond. In one or more implementations a glass panel is mounted to a door skin of a door panel, the door skin having multiple slots. Adhesive is applied to the side of the door skin opposite the glass panel along a path created by the multiple slots. Afterwards, a metal frame is placed on the adhesive creating a metal-to-metal-to-glass bond with increased structural strength and a reduced gap between the glass and metal of the door panel.

Techniques are provided for constructing an adjustable kick panel assembly that is removable, adjustable, and attachable without the use of a tool. In one or more implementations, a bracket having a clip is inserted into a slot on a kick panel, and then twisted to secure the bracket to the kick panel. The bracket allows for height adjustment of the kick panel without a tool. The complete kick panel assembly is then attached to the base of an appliance by inserting the clip into a housing on the base.

A home cooking appliance includes a housing having a cooktop surface on a top of the housing, a burner on the cooktop surface, a cooking grate disposed above the burner, a cooking compartment in the housing, an oven flue that exhausts air from the cooking compartment, and a flue gas air diverter configured to divert the air exiting from the oven flue under a portion of the cooking grate.
