A waterproof, large capacity film magazine is provided for use with an existing camera which includes outer magazine housing for sealably engaging an existing camera body and film handling apparatus disposed in the outer magazine for transporting film across a focal plane of the existing camera body without passing the film under, around, or through any element of the existing camera.

Waterproof large capacity film magazine

Water valve apparatus with distal control includes at least one valve for controlling flow of water therethrough and having a movable actuator for starting and stopping the flow of water. A permanent magnet, disposed proximate said actuator for magnetic engagement therewith, is provided for moving the actuator between a first position stopping water flow through the valve and a second position allowing water flow through the valve. A movable member is provided to alter the magnetic engagement between the permanent magnet and the actuator in order to move the actuator. A cable, having a slidable center wire attached to the movable member and a sheath attached to the valve is connected to a manually operable lever, for operating said cable in a manner causing movement of the movable member and concomitant movement of the actuator, as a result of magnetic engagement alteration, in order to start and stop water flow through the valve.

Water valve apparatus

An extended film magazine for an underwater camera is adapted to be attached to the camera in place of the rear door by a bezel means which provides watertight attachment between a housing of the magazine and the camera. The bezel means aligns and holds a first film holding cassette and a film take-up assembly having all of the operating components thereof, in the housing for easy access and loading. The bezel means also includes sealing means to effectively seal the magazine housing and the camera, and the film take-up assembly is mechanically coupled to the existing film transport mechanism of the camera to drive a take-up means held in this take-up assembly to move unexposed film from the film cassette, through the camera and onto the take-up means. The take-up assembly mechanically coupled to the existing film transport of the camera also includes a mechanical take-up drive and a counter means to measure the length of the film passed through the film transport, together with a light source to illuminate the counter so as to enable it to be read underwater, through a lens means in the housing.

A cable, having a slidable center wire attached to the permanent magnet means and a sheath attached to the valve is connected to a manually operable lever, for operating said cable in a manner causing movement of the permanent magnet means and concomitant movement of the actuator in order to start and stop water flow through the valve.
