A reusable architectural wall is provided which provides a cost-effective space-dividing wall structure formed of internal support rails joined by a lightweight, cost effective facing panel on each panel side, which preferably is formed of standard architectural materials such as gypsum board, R-board and the like. The wall is structurally rigid, field cuttable, installable horizontally or vertically and has a substantial acoustic reduction, cable carrying capacity, and HVAC capability.

Sustainable composite materials for interior spaces and related methods of manufacture are provided. In one aspect of the invention, the sustainable composite materials include a load-bearing stud. The load-bearing stud includes a plurality of woven burlap layers impregnated with a magnesium oxide resin. The load-bearing stud is formed by creasing a woven burlap sheet to form multiple foldable panels, wetting the foldable panels with a curable resin, layering the foldable panels to achieve a multi-layered prepreg, pressing the multi-layered prepreg to distribute the resin therethrough, compacting the multi-layered prepreg within a mold cavity having the exterior shape of the load-bearing stud, and curing the multi-layered prepreg, wherein the resin includes a mixture of mono-potassium phosphate and magnesium oxide. The load-bearing stud provides a lightweight, dimensionally stable, and environmentally-friendly composite structure to replace lumber studs and metal studs in building constructions.

Sustainable composite building materials and related methods of manufacture

A floor tile for a raised floor. The floor tile is defined by a shallow upwardly-opening metal pan defining a shallow compartment in which a main preformed one-piece concrete block is secured. The main concrete block is preferably formed from a plurality of one-piece preformed concrete sub-blocks which are adhesively adhered in sideward abutting relationship to define a plan profile corresponding to the main concrete block. The main concrete block is then adhesively secured within the compartment of the metal pan.

An elongate horizontally-oriented shelf unit which is preferably constructed as a monolithic one-piece member, and is provided with a groove which opens upwardly from a bottom surface thereof and which extends lengthwise of the shelf for accommodating a detachable electrical accessory at any location therealong for downward suspension from the shelf. The groove has a pair of low-voltage conductors embedded in the opposite side walls thereof to extend lengthwise of the groove, and accessible from the interior of the groove to provide electrical contact with an accessory which is inserted into the groove and moved into contact with the conductors. The conductors at one end of the groove, or at one end of a plurality of shelf units which are serially connected together, are joined to a suitable flexible electrical connector which joins to a conventional transformer plug for engagement with a conventional electrical outlet.

This invention relates to a space-dividing wall panel system having a plurality of base panels which are serially connectable one with the other to define a vertically enlarged wall supported on a floor. Each base panel is defined by at least one horizontal box-beam rigidly connected to a pair of laterally spaced apart vertical uprights which are connected at the opposite ends of the box-beam and have a reduced thickness compared thereto. With this clearance between the faces of the box-beam and the uprights, the box-beam, cross rails at the ends of the uprights as well as additional extension panels are formed with longitudinally extending channels which are positioned free of interference with the vertical uprights and aligned with serially-adjacent channels of serially-adjacent wall panels. The channels provide a continuous linear track on the opposite sides of the upright which permit the connection of mounting hooks of furniture components and permit continuous, uninterrupted sliding or adjustment of the furniture components along the entire length of the aligned channels.

A cabinet unit comprising a base unit that defines a first work surface and a pivoting table top which defines a second work surface. The pivoting table top has one end mounted to the base unit by a telescoping pivot assembly, and at the opposite end is supported by a telescoping support leg. The pivot assembly and the support leg each have a lockable height adjustment mechanism such that the pivot assembly permits the table top to be horizontally angularly moved between a closed position overlying the first work surface and an open position extending away from the first work surface, while permitting adjustment of the height of the second work surface.
