The present invention is directed to a mechanical lug with interlocking features that secures an electrical conductor. The mechanical lug has a main body and a mounting tongue extending from the main body. The main body includes an inner flange and an outer flange. The inner flange has a horizontal member and an interlocking member with angled pockets. The outer flange has hooks with a tapered face positioned in the angled pockets of the interlocking member of the inner flange thereby forming a dovetail interlock.

Certain embodiments of the present invention provide a progressive crimping method. The method includes assembling a compression connector for crimping, the compression connector including a first section and a second section; crimping the compression connector to a first crimp depth; crimping the first section of the compression connector to a second crimp depth; and crimping the second section of the compression connector to the second crimp depth.

Progressive crimping method

A joint compound for electrical connections is disclosed which includes an antioxidant base material and a quantity of stainless steel grit mixed with the antioxidant base material to provide improved mechanical pullout strength. The joint compound has a weight ratio of antioxidant to stainless steel grit in the range of from about 30:70 to about 90:10, preferably, from about 40:60 to about 70:30, and more preferably about 50:50. The stainless steel grit is cut wire having a diameter within the range of from about 0.012 inches to about 0.125 inches, with a preferred diameter within the range of from about 0.012 inches to about 0.030 inches, and 0.017 inches being a more preferred stainless steel grit diameter.

Antioxidant joint compound and method for forming an electrical connection

Certain embodiments of the present invention provide a clamp for securing a grounding connector to a structural member. The clamp includes a clamp body having a top section, a bottom section, and a side section, which define an opening for receiving the structural member. The top section includes a plurality of mounting sections separated by at least one slot. Each of the mounting sections includes a mounting hole for receiving a mounting fastener to secure the clamp to the structural member.

Beam clamp

An enclosure formed from a first compartment and an identical second compartment to house an electrical connector. Each compartment has a main body that is defined by a first wall, a second wall and ends. The first wall of each compartment has an outer tab with at least one projection that extends inwards and an inner tab positioned adjacent to the outer tab. The second wall of each compartment has an aperture. When the compartments are mounted to each other to form the enclosure, the projection of the first wall of the first compartment is disposed in the aperture in the second wall of the second compartment and the projection of the first wall of the second compartment is disposed in the aperture in the second wall of the first compartment. The enclosure also includes a label and label cover that are disposed inside the enclosure to identify the connector.

The compression connector has a first body portion including a first hook and a first ramp extending therefrom to form a first main wire port. The first body portion also has a second hook and a second ramp extending therefrom to form a first tap wire port. The first body portion further has a second tap wire port and a third tap wire port positioned between the first main wire port and the first tap wire port.

Multi-port compression connector

A compression connector for securing wires therein is disclosed. The compression connector comprises a first body portion connected to a second body portion, each of the first and second body portions having two pairs of leg portions extending therefrom to form two conductor receiving channels, respectively. The compression connector also has a first pair of slots and a second pair of slots for receiving a cable tie to secure wires therein before crimping. At least one transversely-oriented slot extends between the first pair of slots and the second pair of slots. A method for securing wires within a compression connector is also disclosed.

A compression connector for securing wires therein is disclosed. The compression connector has a first section connected to a second section. Each of the first and second sections has a body portion and an end wall. The body portion has a hook and a ramp extending therefrom to form a main wire port, and the body portion has first and second tap wire ports adjacent the end wall. An angled collapsible link is defined between the first and second tap wire ports.
