A hood (12) for an internal combustion engine compartment (C) has an air precleaner (10) and a muffler (11) mounted on the underside of the hood (12). The collar (26) connecting the precleaner (10) to the engine air intake (M1), and the pipe (36) from the exhaust manifold (M2) to the muffler (11) are both connected by means (26b, 37) which are releasable with the hood (12) in position, so the hood (12), precleaner (10) and muffler (11) constitute a removable module.

A vehicle recoil mechanism includes a two-part shaft, a collar being slidable on one part of the shaft and in operative engagement with a recoil spring, the other part of the shaft being associated with a fluid chamber, so that upon wear on the shaft by movement of the collar relative thereto, only the one part of the shaft need be replaced, without interfering with the fluid chamber.

Modular recoil mechanism

A lubricating system for use in a rotative drive assembly including a clutch pack and a brake pack. The system is arranged to utilize a movement of the piston actuator of the clutch and/or brake pack for controlling delivery of the lubricating oil thereto. The system may be arranged to provide a minimum delivery of lubricating oil to the clutch pack and/or brake pack at all times.

An improved hydraulic pump structure for hydraulic systems which require a plurality of rotary pumps has a pump casing assembly (20) consisting of a plurality of pump casing elements (23-29) which are fastened together in abutting relationship to define a first pump cavity (54) and a second pump cavity (55a) with aligned drive shaft holes (56-61) and a drive shaft (62-63) which is journalled in the holes (56-61) and carries a rotary pump member (76-77 or 80-81) in each cavity (54 and 55a). The casing elements (23-29) are manifolded to provide a first fluid inlet passage (82), a first fluid delivery passage (84) which terminates in a port in a fluid delivery end plate (29), a second fluid inlet passage (86) which has an entrance opening (H6) in the fluid delivery end plate (29), and a second fluid outlet passage (87) which terminates in a port in the fluid delivery end plate (29). There may be two subassemblies (21 and 22) with two pumps in each, secured together in face abutting relationship with an axially interengaged driving connection (62a-63a) between drive shaft segments (62 and 63) in the two subassemblies (21 and 22) and with fluid delivery passages (83 and 84) extending from one assembly through the other.

Manifolded multiple hydraulic pump structure

A fluid flow divider such as for use in controlling fluid flow in a power transmission mechanism. Illustratively, the flow divider may be utilized for providing connection to a bevel gear case provided with a plurality of fluid flow passages opening through a wall portion thereof. The flow divider includes first connecting structure for connecting a first fluid flow conduit to the wall portion to have fluid flow communication with one of the flow passages through its opening in the wall portion. The flow divider further includes a second connecting structure for connecting a second fluid flow conduit to a wall portion to have fluid flow communication with a plurality of additional ones of the fluid flow passages concurrently through their respective openings in the wall portion. Seals are provided for sealing the flow divider to the wall portion. The second connecting structure may include a removable connecting member secured to a cover member in turn secured to the wall portion.

A guide arrangement for a track assembly of a track-type vehicle comprises a first arm mounted on a track frame, a second arm pivotally mounted on the first arm and a pair of rollers rotatably mounted on the second arm to engage the track assembly in rolling contact therewith. A pair of guides are secured to either the first or second arm to straddle each link assembly of the track assembly to restrain lateral movements thereof.

Track guiding means for a track-type vehicle

Structure for removably locking a cover in a covering disposition. The locking device is arranged to be released notwithstanding the disposition thereof in a relatively inaccessible area of the machine on which the cover is mounted. The locking device includes a locking pin which is axially movable so as to have clearance with the cover with the pin being so moved by a tool inserted through the small access space available to the locking device. The pin is drawn back outwardly into locking arrangement with the cover by a threaded device having a shank portion passed through a hole in the cover into threaded association with the locking pin, permitting threaded operation of the device to draw the pin outwardly into the hole of the cover and thereby lock the cover against rotation about a pivot mount thereof.

A tractor recoil mechanism for maintaining tension of the track includes a cylinder having a sleeve piston movably disposed therein, associated with a rear frame portion. A rod member, disposed within the sleeve piston to form therewith a closed chamber with the cylinder means, extends through an open end of the cylinder means. A helical spring acts between the sleeve piston and reaction means associated with a front frame portion to urge them apart. Recoil movement of the front portion in one direction relative to the rear portion moves the rod therewith, so that, with the chamber filled with incompressible fluid, the sleeve piston moves in the opposite direction relative to the cylinder means, with compressive movement of the helical spring being greater than the amount of movement of the front portion toward the rear portion. Vent means associated with the chamber allow introduction of substantially incompressible fluid therein while air may be properly vented therefrom.
