This invention relates to improvements in internal combustion engines. More particularly it relates to increased levels of usable electrical energy production and fuel efficiency within a relatively fixed speed, cam-track style Engine/Generator when combined with the secondary injection or injections of a rapidly expanding medium (usually water) into the engines combustion chambers during and after the combustion process has been initiated. The injection of said medium causing reduced fuel consumption, increased cylinder pressure, an extended usable piston stroke length, and increased usable energy production, while reducing the temperature of the combustion gases in order to control or eliminate the production of the pollutant, NOx and to further reduce thermal pollution exhausted into the atmosphere.

Internal combustion engine/generator with pressure boost

An internal combustion engine, and integrated electrical generator, both enclosed in a single housing. The engine has at least one cylinder and piston which extends radially from an axis of rotation about which a combination cam plate and generator armature assembly rotates to produce electrical energy as it passes a stationary electrical coil secured within the housing. The engine block, including at least one cylinder, remains stationary.

The combination of a piston with an integrated spark plug to be used in an internal combustion engine is disclosed. The plug-in-piston configuration allows for maximum combustion and fuel efficiency as well as increased power output. Further, the configuration minimizes the release of unburned fuel and pollutants into the atmosphere. A method is also disclosed by which electrical energy is communicated to a spark plug.

Plug-in-piston assembly and method of using the same

One embodiment provides for a liquids/solids reaction vessel configured to contain a mixture of at least one liquid and at least one solid. The vessel includes a closed perimeter wall defined by an effective height, and a bottom connected to the closed perimeter wall to thereby define a vessel volume configured to contain the mixture. The reaction vessel further includes a solids extraction system located in at least one of the bottom or in the perimeter wall proximate the bottom. The effective height is selected to produce a pressure proximate the bottom of the reaction vessel selected to eject the at least one solid through the solids extraction system under the influence of gravity alone. The effective height can be further selected to cause an increase in a reaction rate between the at least one liquid and the at least one solid.

Methods and apparatus for processing mixtures of liquids and solids

One embodiment of the present invention provides for a subterranean structure, having a continuous ribbon slab having a plurality of flights fabricated from concrete. The ribbon slab defines periodic openings therein which generally align between adjacent flights. Another embodiment provides for a method of fabricating a subterranean structure. The method includes excavating soil to form a downward sloping ramp, and forming a concrete slab on the downward sloping ramp. The method further includes continuing to excavate soil to extend the downward sloping ramp to a location under the concrete slab, and continuing to form the concrete slab on the downward sloping ramp so that a subterranean structure is formed having an essentially continuous concrete slab with a first portion which is above and spaced-apart from a second portion.

Subterranean structures and methods for constructing subterranean structures

A novel back stop gauge for determining accurate and safe positioning of work piece material in a machine tool, such as a press brake, wherein a linear stop has an axially stiff, but transversely flexible coil spring intermediate end portions, one end portion being engaged by work piece material and the opposite end portion being anchored to a cooperating support. Misplacement of work material either over or beneath the stop, while normally destructive of the work piece upon closure of the press brake, does not result in damage to the machine tool or the press because of the flexible nature of the back stop, which permits movement of the stop out of the path of the machine tool.

A mechanical fuel cell, in which a novel two cycle type, six cylinder, twin cam, internal combustion rotary engine, operable generally at constant speed, drives a plurality of magnets over a stationary wire coil to generate electrical energy.

Engine generator

A multi-piece die section for a press brake installed rotary bending tool in which a forming anvil is positioned in a holder in accordance with the thickness of material to be bent so that the rotary bender and press brake operate on the same center line. In one version of the holder a forming anvil is adjustably positioned relative to the center line of the rotary bender and in a second version thereof the forming anvil is precision sized in accordance with the thickness of the work material whereby to eliminate the need for shims and readjustment of press ram stroke as required by the first version.

Rotary bender die

A rotary bending tool holder, particularly useful in a press brake type press, which embodies a two piece holder, namely a main body and clamp; usually attached to the moveable ram of the press brake. A rotary bending tool used with the holder is provided with elongated rectangular keyway slots along opposite sides which are aligned to received opposing tabs or keys engageable with such slots. One key is formed on the clamp of the holder while the other key is formed on the main body of the holder. Once positioned in the holder, the clamp is tightened to engage its associated key in one of the slots of the bending tool. This action causes the other key on the holder body to engage the other slot of the bending tool. At the same time opposing surfaces on the holder body and bending tool, located at the same distance from the center line of the tool holder engage to precisely align the center of the rotary head on the center line of the holder and press head.

A pre-assembled valve mechanism for use in valve controlled internal combustion engines and the like which is constructed and arranged to be installed and removed quickly as a unitary module with minimum effort and expenditure of time; the module comprising a cylindrical housing with valve seat and exhaust port, a headed valve cooperable with the seat, a valve guide, a return spring and a valve actuating cam follower coaxially mounted in operating position with the housing.

Modular valve assembly

A unitary cylinder useful in internal combustion engines having external threads at one end for a connection with the engine; the cylinder providing internal bearing support to an associated piston mounted internally thereof and external bearing support to a cam actuated saddle embracing the cylinder's exterior. Elongated openings in opposing walls of the cylinder accommodate passage of a transverse wrist pin connection between the internal piston and external saddle.

Cylinder assembly

A compensating bolster and die holder combination for use with the bed of a press brake to provide vertical adjustment and compensating camber to the die holder supported thereby. The die holder is vertically moveable in an open channel of an underlying elongated bolster fitted to the bed of the press; with plural wedge members, moveable transversely of the die holder, serving to adjustably position and support the latter. Each wedge member has joined thereto an indicator pin extending through one side of the bolster which operates to visually indicate the adjusted position of its wedge member; while the several indicator pins cooperate to show the relative adjusted positions of the several wedge members and the consequential adjusted elevation of the die and die holder.
