Disclosed herein is a demarcation enclosure that includes a base. The base includes an interior cavity. The demarcation enclosure also includes a cover that selectively encloses the base. The demarcation enclosure further includes a tray that is removably attachable to the base, within the interior cavity of the base, and that includes a mounting plate. The mounting plate has a first side and a second side that is opposite the first side. The tray further includes an outer ring coupled to and protruding from the second side of the mounting plate, and an axle coupled to and protruding from the second side of the mounting plate at a center of the outer ring.

Cable demarcation enclosure

A CATV/MoCA(cable television/Multimedia over Coax Alliance)signal distribution system includes a first 2-way hybrid splitter for receiving a CATV input signal and splitting it into first and second CATV output signals, a second 2-way hybrid splitter for receiving the second CATV output signal and splitting it into third and fourth CATV output signals, with the latter being connected to a CATV output port. A first diplex filter is receptive of the first CATV output signal, and MoCA signals for providing electrical isolation therebetween and connecting them to a modem port. A second diplex filter is receptive of the third CATV output signal and MoCA signals for providing electrical isolation therebetween and connecting them to a Gateway port. A resistive splitter is connected between the first and second diplex filters and a plurality of individual MoCA signal ports for providing bidirectional MoCA signal flow therebetween.

MoCA gateway splitter

A Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA) gateway splitter that includes a directional coupler (including a first transmission path and a second transmission path), a gateway port and a cable television (CATV) input port each electrically connected to the first transmission path, and a MoCA port electrically connected to the second transmission path such that the MoCA port is isolated from the CATV input port and coupled to the gateway port. Multiple MoCA ports may be electrically connected to the second transmission path (e.g., via a resistive splitter). The second transmission path may be electrically connected to ground. The MoCA gateway splitter may include multiple (e.g., two or three) gateway ports, each electrically connected to the CATV input port via a directional coupler (and, e.g., one or more hybrid splitters). In those embodiments, each directional coupler may be electrically connected to the MoCA port(s), for example, via a common microstrip node.

Universal MoCA gateway splitter

A CATV/MoCA signal distribution system includes a first 2-way hybrid splitter for receiving a CATV input signal and splitting it into first and second CATV output signals, a second 2-way hybrid splitter for receiving the second CATV output signal and splitting it into third and fourth CATV output signals, with the latter being connected to a CATV output port. A first diplex filter is receptive of the first CATV output signal, and MoCA signals for providing electrical isolation therebetween and connecting them to a modem port. A second diplex filter is receptive of the third CATV output signal and MoCA signals for providing electrical isolation therebetween and connecting them to a Gateway port. A resistive splitter is connected between the first and second diplex filters and a plurality of individual MoCA signal ports for providing bidirectional MoCA signal flow therebetween.

In a grounded electrically conductive housing for an electrical device, common electrically conductive connection points for one or more components connected thereto to be protected from harmful voltage surges, are provided with a spark gap formed between the connection points and ground, via either electrically conductive surge rods, electrode chips, or eyelets for conducting the voltage surges across the spark gap to ground thereby protecting the associated components from damage due to a voltage surge.

Methods and devices for protecting CATV circuits from combination and ring waves

Apparatus and methods for controlled splitting and isolation of signals in a radio frequency network. In one embodiment, the network comprises a cable television network, and the apparatus comprises a signal splitter having controlled isolation loss at its output ports in at least one frequency band, thereby enabling communications between terminal devices at the subscriber premises that would otherwise be isolated by high losses typical of prior art splitters. The splitter apparatus can also be utilized with a filter/reflector circuit that advantageously provides maximal downstream frequency spectrum bandwidth while suitably reflecting the aforementioned communications to maintain them within the subscriber-side network without interference.

Controlled isolation splitter apparatus and methods

A device mounting apparatus includes a mounting base portion having a plurality of opposing pairs of rails. The mounting base portion is adapted for mounting on a support structure. The apparatus further includes a mounting tab affixed to a device for snap in mounting between a pair of rails, whereby the device is captively retained on the mounting base portion, and can be disengaged therefrom by snapping the mounting tabs out of the associated pairs of rails.

Methods and apparatus for mounting devices

Apparatus and methods for the management of radio frequency spectrum within a network such as a CATV network. In one aspect of the invention, an improved signal reflector apparatus adapted for use in the network is disclosed, the reflector circuit being designed to strongly reflect signal frequencies at the lower end of the CATV reverse band, and/or above the higher end of the forward band, while simultaneously allowing the rest of the reverse band and the entire forward band to pass freely through the device. This selective filtering of the spectrum allows control signals generated within a premises or private network to be directed (by reflection) to other devices within that network. A blocking element (e.g., amplifier) may also be used to provide control of the transmission and attenuation profile of the reflector apparatus. The passage of power signals such as DC or low frequency AC is also optionally provided.

Apparatus and methods for network interface and spectrum management

A passive directional coupler is receptive of VoIP, Internet, and video/data signals, and is used in a CATV amplifier device to couple the video/data signals from a cable drop input port to the input terminal of an amplifier, and to passively bypass the VoIP and Internet signals to a modem port, for insuring continuous connection of the VoIP and Internet signals to the a modem of a user connected to the modem port, regardless of the loss of power to the amplifier or the failure of the amplifier, in one embodiment of the invention. In another embodiment, a switching circuit is responsive to the loss of power to the amplifier, for electrically connecting a 75 ohm resistor between a source of reference potential, and the common connection between the directional coupler and the amplifier, for maintaining a 75 ohm impedance at the directional coupler output to the common connection. In a preferred embodiment, the switching circuit also opens the common connection between the directional coupler and amplifier, upon the loss of power to the amplifier.
