A bath bead composition is disclosed based on urea beads in combination with at least one active bath component selected from germicides, emollients, and surfactants. The composition dissolves in water to provide an approximately neutral solution, and is not irritating to the skin.

Emollient and/or dyed prilled urea bath bead composition

A machine dishwashing detergent which cleans at lower temperature combines a chelating agent with a water soluble oxidizing bleach in an alkaline environment and certain combinations of nonionic surfactants: A. a low-foaming water-soluble polyol which is a polyoxypropyleneterminated block copolymer having a polyoxyethylene core; B. an oil-soluble condensate of about 1 to about 5 moles of ethylene oxide with a hydrophobic organic compound containing a single -OH group; and C. a high-foaming water-soluble condensate of at least about 7 moles of ethylene oxide with a hydrophobic organic compound containing a single --OH group. When all three surfactants are used in an amount of at least about 1%, at least 4% of total surfactant is needed, and when fewer surfactants are used, a larger total amount is required.

Dishwashing detergent effective at low temperature

A dry powder detergent composition suitable for machine dishwashing and which contains a low-phosphate content of from about 10 to about 20 weight percent utilizes, as the essential combination of components, an alkali metal tripolyphosphate or an alkali metal hexametaphosphate, an appropriate proportion of an alkali metal carbonate, and a mixture of a high-foaming nonionic surfactant with a foam reducing agent. The surfactant is preferably liquid and is sorbed on solid constituents of the composition to provide a detergent which exhibits superior performance in hard water notwithstanding the relatively low phosphate content of the composition. The nonionic surfactant mixture preferably further comprises an oil-soluble, nonionic surfactant.

Low phosphate content dishwashing detergent

A dry powder detergent composition suitable for machine dishwashing and which contains a low-phosphate content of from about 10 to about 20 weight percent utilizes, as the essential combination of components, an alkali metal tripolyphosphate or an alkali metal hexametaphosphate, an appropriate proportion of an alkali metal carbonate, an alkali metal silicate, and a mixture of a high-foaming nonionic surfactant with a foam reducing agent. The surfactant is preferably liquid and is sorbed on solid constituents of the composition to provide a detergent which exhibits superior performance in hard water notwithstanding the relatively low phosphate content of the composition. The nonionic surfactant mixture preferably further comprises an oil-soluble, nonionic surfactant.

Emollient-containing urea bath bead compositions are disclosed in which an oily perfume is present in a low-foaming or nonfoaming system, while minimizing scum formation on the bathtub walls. Also, anticaking particles are associated with the prills in a nonsegregating fashion, and water is included in the materials sprayed on the urea prills so that water soluble dyes can be dissolved in the water and applied to the prills at the same time.

Emollient-containing urea-based bath bead composition and the production

A de-inking process for removing ink and other substances from printed paper which process is capable of providing de-inked paper stock having improved brightness. The process utilizes an aqueous de-inking solution containing a mixture of certain surfactants, at least one surfactant being a water-soluble nonionic surfactant and the other surfactant being an oil-soluble nonionic surfactant. De-inking is carried out at a temperature in the range of about room temperature to about the boiling temperature of the solution by forming a slurry of the printed paper in the solution having a predetermined fibrous material solids content. The total nonionic surfactant concentration in the de-inking solution can be about 0.1 to about 5 weight percent, preferably about 0.5 to about 2.5 weight percent, based on the amount of fibrous material solids present. The weight ratio of the water-soluble surfactant to the oil-soluble surfactant in the mixture is in a range of about 6:1 to about 3:1, preferably about 4:1.

Alkaline surfactant system for de-inking printed fibrous material

A non-segregating, free-flowing bath bead composition, based on prilled urea in combination with active bath components, is produced by admixing urea prills with an oily liquid emollient to distribute the emollient substantially uniformly on the prills and then adhering a powdered surfactant to the emollient-bearing prills to produce free-flowing bath beads. If desired, color can be imparted to the prills by providing moisture-containing prills and commingling the prills with a powdered, water-soluble dye prior to the distribution of the emollient thereon.

Method for producing a prilled urea bath bead composition

Powder detergent compositions for machine dish washing which are effective in hard water in the absence of phosphates are provided based on a combination of low foaming nonionic surfactant, bleaching agent, and from 8-70% of ammonium sulfate, ammonium borate, ammonium carbonate, ammonium bicarbonate, or a mixture thereof. The composition is required to provide a pH in the range of pH 7.0 to pH 8.5 measured in 1% water solution.

Powder detergent compositions

An alkaline cleaning and conditioning composition for ceramic surfaces is provided in the form of an abrasive powder mixture including a surfactant, and a silicone oil absorbed in a water soluble absorbent powder.

Conditioning cleanser for ceramic surfaces

Powder detergent compositions for machine dish washing which are effective in hard water in the absence of phosphates are provided based on a combination of low foaming nonionic surfactant, bleaching agent, and from 15-85% of borax. The composition is buffered to provide a pH in the range of pH 7.8 to pH 8.5 measured in 1% water solution.
