The invention is an automated lap washer and rack system for washing and drying aluminum laps used in the processing of opthalmic lenses and consists of an enclosure containing a washing and a drying chamber through which special mounting trays, removably attached to a table top conveyor, carry aluminum laps first through the washing stage and then through the drying chamber.

Automated lap washer

A structure and method is provided for absorbing excess fat from an environment including one or more fats insolubly combined in an aqueous solution mix. The structure includes a plurality of layers, at least one of which is formed from a preferentially fat-permeable, oleophilic material having a greater affinity for fat than for the aqueous solution. Preferably, the structure includes particular structural and topographic components that effectively enhance the inherent fat-affinity of the oleophilic material. The absorption structure is easily employed by introducing it into an environment such as a soup, broth, etc., having fat residing in an aqueous solution. The structure acts to attract and absorb at least a portion of the fat which can then be extracted from the solution. A process for forming the multi-layer absorption structure is also provided.

Fat collection structure and method

A compact foldable mechanic's walk for facilitating servicing of motor vehicles by improving access to the engine compartment. The mechanic's walk includes a pair of relatively narrow elongated planar mirror image platform members hingedly connected together along abuttable acute angular ends. The platform members are supportable by a plurality of pivotally supported legs adapted to be folded in against the bottom surfaces of the platform members. The platform members preferably are flanged so that in folded condition the in-folded support legs are enclosed within a box-like enclosure.

Mechanic's walk

The clamp has an elongated body with a transverse bore which is intersected on an axial threaded hole originating at one end of the body. A transverse slot originating closer to the one end of the body tangentially intersects the bore closer to the one end of the body. A screw is threaded into the hole from the one end and bears on elastic lines (or cords) and tends to push them into the hole. When used with a colostomy pouch the clamp holds the usual retaining bead tight against the pouch connector and plate flange.

A seal assembly for the hermetic closure of the cut ends of sheathed electrical cables, in unit readiness comprised of a cylinder form approximating the outer diameter of the sheathed cable, a sealant body adhered to an end wall of said form, and a conformable and/or elastic tape with a pressure sensitive adhesive side covered with a removable protective sheet having opposite release faces and wrapped over the cylinder form and sealant body in package configuration. Hermetically sealing a cut cable end is accomplished by removal of the stretch tape and reapplication thereof around the cylinder form and cable sheathing subsequent to forcefully applying the sealant body to said cut cable end with the end wall of the cylinder form.

In the reconditioning or repair of worn out conveyor belts, such conveyor belt to be repaired is drawn at a high tension past a stationary knife edge to cut away a predetermined thickness and width of the top surface portion of the belt from the bottom reinforced portion of the belt. The height of the knife edge relative to the worn edge is adjustable thereby allowing a range of selected thicknesses to be cut for optimum results in repairing the belt in the worn areas.
