The cooking grill has a firebox having a combustive heat source near the bottom therein, a cooking surface disposed along an upper portion of the firebox, and a convex intermediate element interposing the burner and the cooking surface, the intermediate element having an apex near the cooking surface and sides spaced apart from the cooking surface.

The cooking grate has a metallic plate, configured to be placed over a heat source in the outdoor cooking grill, where the metallic plate has a plurality of perforation holes. An apparatus configured to permit the use of charcoal for cooking in a gas barbecue grill, the gas grill having a bottom casting containing a gas burner element, a cooking rack supported thereabove, and a top casting rotatably affixed thereto. The apparatus includes a tray configured to be received within the bottom casting and the tray includes a pair of handles. Each of the handles includes a proximal end and a distal end, and the handles are rotatably connected to the tray at the proximal ends and the distal ends are configured to support the cooking rack.

Barbecue grill cart assembly

A barbecue grill has a bottom casting formed with a flange portion along its periphery. The flange portion extends up at an angle between approximately thirty and forty-five degrees from a cooking grate so that grease produced while cooking may be directed into the bottom casting, through an aperture in the bottom casting, and into a grease collection cup. The grease collection cup is mounted to the bottom casting in a manner which permits the tilting of the cup relative to the bottom casting. The periphery of the bottom casting is formed with an upstanding tongue which is received within a groove formed in a hood of the barbecue grill. The groove defines an inner leg for directing grease into the grill and an outer leg for directing water away from the inside of the grill.

A barbecue grill cart assembly is provided having a unique leg locking system at each corner. The locking system provides a plurality of contact points for each leg to obviate any swaying or twisting of the legs. The lower shelf includes extruded bolt receiving apertures which mate with corresponding apertures in the legs. The side shelves having a locking system including elongated slots which provide positive engagement and prevent accidental lowering of the shelves.
