A ladder support assembly including a base frame having first and second ends and a pair of pivot supports extending from the base frame which support a rod configured to pivotally support a ladder relative to the base frame. A pivot frame is pivotally mounted to the base frame and is biased away from the base frame. A bracket assembly is pivotally mounted to the pivot frame and includes a pair of bracket plates. Each bracket plate has an inner flange and outer flange with a ladder rail receiving area between the inner and outer flanges. The ladder receiving area is configured such that the bracket plate is slidable relative to a respective ladder rail received therein. A crank assembly includes a spool rotatably supported on the base frame and a cord wound about the spool with a free end of the cord connected relative to the pivot frame.

Ladder support and movement assembly

A liquid level sensor device () includes a liquid level sensor element (), a capacitance-to-voltage converter (), and a controller (). The liquid level sensor element () comprises (i) at least two sets of N conductive electrodes () and (ii) M sense lines (S-S), where M is greater than or equal to N within each set of the at least two sets of conductive electrodes. Each of the M sense lines couples to select ones of the N conductive electrodes of the at least two sets of conductive electrodes to form a number of L sets of parallel coupled conductive electrodes, where L equals M. The capacitance-to-voltage converter () periodically measures a capacitance of the L sets of parallel coupled conductive electrodes for each of the M sense lines. The controller () establishes initial measured baseline capacitance values for each of the L sets of parallel coupled conductive electrodes and an initial liquid level height value. The controller () also detects transitions in the measured capacitance of the L sets of parallel coupled conductive electrodes. Responsive to the detected transitions corresponding to incremental changes in measured capacitance values, the controller updates the liquid level height value.

Liquid level sensing device and method

A generally cylindrical shaped tool handle holds multiple sizes of tools. The handle includes one or more holding slots each positioned on one of multiple outer surface faces into which tools are inserted and held. Each holding slot includes one or more contoured compartments in which tools rest when engaged with the handle. Each contoured compartment is of a size and dimension which corresponds to one or more tool sizes. In the preferred embodiment of the tool handle, three of its outer surface faces have a continuous holding slot with multiple receiving holes for inserting therein hexagonal wrenches of multiple sizes. The continuous holding slots of the preferred embodiment of the handle include multiple contoured compartments for holding an inserted hexagonal wrench. Each contoured compartment is formed about a corresponding receiving hole. A lock is positioned over the contoured compartment to irremovably confine the short leg of the hexagonal wrench within the contoured compartment. Hexagonal shaped tools other than wrenches may be used with the handle of the present invention such as screwdrivers and socket wrenches. A tool holder of the present invention is designed to slide over the handle and to hold multiple sizes of tools which may be used with the handle. The tool holder includes a tool holding member having a plurality of cavities for inserting therein appropriately sized tools and a tool handle holding member having a cavity with an inner hollow shape corresponding to a shape of the handle.

The automatically adjusting gripping device grips a workpiece ever more tightly as greater torque is applied thereto. The device has a base plate having a linear guide slot or series of radial guide slots, with a pair of jaws residing in each slot. A torque application component rotates relative to the base plate, and has a cam track of varying diameter in which the heads of the jaws ride. Rotation of the torque application component and cam track relative to the base plate causes the jaw heads to slide along the track due to the jaws being captured within the base plate slot, thereby changing the span between jaws as the cam track diameter varies at the jaw head locations. The gripping device is useful as an adjustable wrench but may be applied to other environments as well, e.g., as an automatic gripping and releasing device in conveyor systems, etc.

Tool handle with holder

A generally cylindrical shaped tool handle holds multiple sizes of tools. The handle includes one or more holding slots each positioned on one of multiple surface faces into which hexagonal tools are inserted and held. Each holding slot is of a size and dimension which corresponds to a hexagonal tool size. In the preferred embodiment of the handle three of the faces have a single holding slot with multiple receiving holes for holding hexagonal wrenches of multiple sizes. A lock is positioned over the short leg of the hexagonal wrench and the holding slot to hold the wrench in position during use. The width of the bottom of the lock is smaller than the width of the top of the lock in order to give the lock a natural spring-like property, thereby allowing it to clamp onto the handle and remain in its locked position. The lock may be positioned to hold a tool in any one of the holding slots. In the preferred embodiment the lock includes inner ridges which are received by positioning slots, within the handle, in order to keep the lock from rotating around the handle during use. Hexagonal shaped tools other than wrenches may also be used with the handle of the present invention such as screwdrivers and socket wrenches. A multiple tool holder is designed to slide over the handle of the present invention and hold multiple sizes of tools which may be used with the handle. The tool holder includes a mounting magnet for mounting the handle and holder to a magnetic surface.

A generally cylindrical shaped tool handle holds multiple sizes of tools. The preferred embodiment of the handle is hexagonal shaped and holds multiple sizes of hexagonal tools. The handle includes one or more holding slots each positioned on one of multiple surface faces into which hexagonal tools are inserted and held. Each holding slot is of a size and dimension which corresponds to a hexagonal tool size. In use, a hexagonal wrench is positioned in the appropriate holding slot with the short leg or mounting end of the hexagonal wrench resting in the holding slot and the long leg of the hexagonal wrench extending through a receiving hole formed through the bottom of the slot and the tool handle. The long leg having a proximal end for driving the screw or tool. A lock is then positioned over the short leg of the hexagonal wrench and the holding slot. The width of the bottom of the lock is smaller than the width of the top of the lock in order to give the lock a natural spring-like property, thereby allowing it to clamp onto the handle and remain in its locked position. The lock is positionable along the handle on any surface face. The lock may be positioned to hold a tool in any one of the holding slots. The movement of the lock is enhanced by pinching external ridges located on the top sides of the lock and thereby spreading its bottom allowing it to slide along the handle. Hexagonal shaped tools other than wrenches may also be used with the handle of the present invention such as screwdrivers and socket wrenches.

A card edge connector for printed circuit boards is disclosed which employs a double-decker design. The connector may have the same length and width as conventional connectors used on Industry Standard Architecture (ISA) personal computers but is deeper. Conventional 8- and 16-bit ISA accessory circuit boards may be plugged into a corresponding socket which is also disclosed herein until they reach a stop upon which they rest, working as they would in an ISA personal computer. 32-bit Extended Industry Standard Architecture accessory circuit boards have a second row of connectors and a notch so they slide farther down into the socket, lining up with a second row of contacts. This design uses less physical space for connectors, allowing more room for logic circuitry on the motherboard.
