Nanoparticles may be used in the formulation of long chain poly-alpha-olefins, commercially known as Drag Reducer Additives ('DRA'). These nanoparticles may be embedded in the original DRA formulation and/or added at some point in the pipeline application so they can then be used to destroy the DRA polymer by cleaving, interrupting, or restructuring the DRA or otherwise breaking its bonds or to agglomerate or coagulate the polymer so it can be removed mechanically or chemically.

Nanoparticles for use with drag reducer additives and method of use

Nanoparticles may be used in the formulation of long chain poly-alpha-olefins, commercially known as Drag Reducer Additives ('DRA'). These nanoparticles may be embedded in the original DRA formulation and/or added at some point in the pipeline application so they can then be used to destroy the DRA polymer by cleaving, interrupting or restructuring the DRA or otherwise breaking its bonds or to agglomerate or coagulate the polymer so it can be removed mechanically or chemically.

A commutator end bracket formed from a singular piece of sheet metal. The bracket is formed to include bases for mounting the commutator end bracket to a motor. Windows are punched into side pieces of the bracket for receiving brushes for communication with a commutator. The brushes are retained by a clip received within channels formed along the edges of the side pieces. A bearing is received within a housing drawn from a top plate of the bracket. The bearing is maintained within the housing by means of a spring clip which mates with portions of the top plate.

Commutator end bracket

A by-pass vacuum motor assembly wherein the motor cooling fan is positioned in an opening at the bottom of the motor band and immediately above a flat plate portion of the fan housing bracket. The flat plate portion functions as a plate diffuser, redirecting air drawn through the commutator end bracket and across the motor internals into a radial exhaust between a bottom portion of the band and a top portion of the fan end bracket. The invention also includes a brush holder clip passing through a vertical opening in the commutator end bracket and engaging a collar on the brush mechanism. The brush mechanism passes through a horizontal opening in the commutator end bracket which intersects with the vertical opening. Armature grounding is achieved by a disk maintained in a recess in the commutator end bracket and urged by a spring against the bearing receiving the motor shaft. The power wires to the motor are secured by a tab maintained opposite an opening in the commutator end bracket which is itself opposite an opening in the band. Power wires pass through the openings and over the tab, being crimped thereby.

Quiet by-pass vacuum motor

A motor-fan unit for a wet pick-up type of vacuum cleaner comprising a fan-section and a separately ventilated motor section. A motor-end bracket in the motor housing structure serves as a common end wall with the fan section and carries a bearing for the common shaft of the motor and fan. A baffle carried by the motor-end bracket within the fan section has an apertured central portion, at least partly enclosing the bearing, to provide a passage-way for high velocity air sealing the bearing from detergent-containing cleaning liquid entrained in working air drawn into the fan section. A normally closed check valve at an inlet to the sealing air passageway inhibits back-flow of either air or liquid through the inlet but permits such sealing air to serve as cooling air when the entrance of working air into the fan section is impeded.

Wet pick-up vacuum unit

A wet pick-up type vacuum motor fan unit with a separately ventilated motor section and a motor end bracket serving also as a support for, and part of a discharge end housing wall for, the working air fan section, has on the bracket fanward face a centrally apertured metal disk plate defining a flow space or path for bearing sealing air flow from ambient air inlets external of the motor section to a central discharge into the inlet eye of an auxiliary fan clamped on the shaft back-to-back with a larger diameter working air centrifugal fan adjacent the end bracket. A stamped shield cup jointly clamped on the shaft with the fans extends out of the auxiliary fan inlet eye into the disk central aperture, surrounding the shaft bearing socket of the bracket and being spaced from the disk aperture edge to afford a sealing air outlet from said space into the auxiliary fan inlet eye; whereby the disk plate and shield afford mechanical shielding, while air, discharging to and from the auxiliary fan, provides air shielding of the shaft and bearing area from working air entrained foam and moisture.
