A reignition device for a gas burner includes a reignition flame chamber which opens into a burner face of the gas burner. The burner face is also provided with a plurality of circumferentially spaced burner ports. The reignition chamber includes at least one port for receiving an air/gas mixture flowing within the burner head. A reignition flame is initially ignited at the reignition chamber by a burner port flame or an electrode which also can be used to ignite the gas flowing out of the various burner ports in the burner face. The reignition device is designed so that the reignition flame burns in a balanced and stable manner both when the burner is set at a high rate and when the gas burner is turned down to a low setting. Subsequently, should the flames about the burner face be extinguished by an external influence, the reignition flame will remain ignited and will function to reignite the burner flames.

Reignition device for a gas burner

A gas-fired oven is disclosed wherein heated air is delivered to an oven's interior from a gas burner located outside the oven in a way to enhance the convection heating properties and capacity of the oven. This is accomplished by means of a conduit which receives air heated by the external gas burner and internally discharges this heated air into the return air path of a blower used to recirculate hot air within the oven. The internal discharge end of the conduit is located adjacent to the blower's return air path so that the conduit does not obstruct the recirculating air. The external gas burner may be either an atmospheric burner or a power burner. Its gas burner head is axially aligned with the conduit's exterior inlet end and spaced a short distance from this inlet. The spacing between the burner head and the conduit inlet controls the dilution air which is required to regulate the temperature of the hot air according to the oven's function such as heating food.

Gas-fired oven

A deep fat fryer includes an open-top vessel having at least one trough-shaped container adapted to hold a quantity of cooking oil. A pulse combustion burner is provided for heating the oil and includes a combustion chamber adapted to be immersed in the oil. A mixer head receives controllable air and fuel flows and an ignitor within the mixer head initiates combustion. A cabinet is provided for supporting the vessel and the burner. A tailpipe receives the combustion products and carries the same into an exhaust decoupler which is located adjacent the inlet end of the combustion chamber and which substantially enclosed the mixer head and at least a portion of a vent pipe. The exhaust decoupler and the tailpipe are arranged in heat exchange relationship with the vessel wall. A continuously operating air blower is provided to minimize burner start-up time and to cool electronic control circuitry used to regulate the oil temperature and the operating periods of the burner.

Pulse combustion deep fat fryer

A closed top pulse combustion burner for a flat cooking surface. The burner comprises a shallow rectangular box-like combustion chamber with its top providing a cooking surface area. Pulse combustion operation of the burner promotes high thermal efficiency. An internal baffle arrangement in the burner box provides a high degree of temperature uniformity at the cooking surface. The rectangular configuration of the burner unit allows modular construction of multiple burner units which can be individually operated at different times and/or temperatures.
