A zero-emission configurable medium/heavy duty class electric truck is disclosed that uses high-voltage, battery-powered electrical energy for both motive power and auxiliary powered unit power. In embodiments, the electric truck includes a central frame having a pair of main frame rails configured to support at least two battery modules, a front subframe configured to support a front axle assembly and a cab, and a rear subframe configured to support at least one rear axle assembly and a rear payload module selected from one of the set of multiple configurable rear payload modules. In embodiments, at least one of the front axle assembly and the rear axle assembly include an electric motive motor powered by a battery management system configured to manage generation and distribution of alternating-current (AC) electrical power from the at least two battery modules to the at least one electric motive motor to provide motive power to the zero-emission configurable electric truck and to at least one auxiliary power unit (APU) to provide auxiliary power to the rear payload module.

A stair system for providing access to a cargo platform of a commercial vehicle is disclosed. The stair system is movable between a deployed configuration and a stowed configuration. The stair system comprises a mounting plate, a stair assembly, and a linkage assembly. The mounting plate is configured to be attached to the cargo platform of the commercial vehicle. The stair assembly includes a top platform that is slidably received within the mounting plate and a plurality of step platforms that is pivotally attached to the top platform. The linkage assembly comprising at least one slotted link that includes a slot and at least one first link that is slidable relative to the slot. When in the stowed configuration, the stair system is configured to be positioned beneath the cargo platform. When in the deployed configuration, the stair system is configured to extend outwardly from the cargo platform.

Stair system for vehicle

A universal chassis frame is disclosed having a ladder-frame construction configurable to position a rear axle(s) at variable distances from a back of a vehicle's cab to provide customized rail/bed lengths for different electric truck classes. The chassis frame includes a central frame having a pair of main frame rails to support at least two battery modules substantially within an intra-frame space. A front subframe supports the cab, a front portion including a pair of upper frame members mounted above the corresponding main frame rails, and a front axle unit mounted under the front subframe. A rear subframe supports at least one rear axle unit mounted under the rear subframe and any of multiple configurable rear payload units via a common connection interface affixable to the main frame rails so the rear subframe's location with respect to the main frame is longitudinally variable from the back of the cab.

A stair system that is associated with a cargo platform of a commercial vehicle for transporting goods is disclosed. The stair system is integral with the vehicle and/or the cargo platform and provides a user/operator with easy and safe access to the cargo platform without occupying the storage space provided by the cargo platform. The stair system can be arranged in a deployed configuration when in use and in a stowed configuration that is road-ready and does not prevent the vehicle from being operated on paved roads.

A method for treating abnormal blood vessel growth and proliferation is disclosed. Members of the hypocrellin class of compounds such as hypocrellin A, hypocrellin B, and/or amino-substituted derivatives of hypocrellin B are administered and photoactivated with photodynamic therapy. The method may be used, for example, to treat ocular blood vessel proliferation as occurs with macular degeneration.
