The present invention is an apparatus and method for allowing for the use of commercial dual inline memory module (DIMM) in high shock and vibration environments while preserving serviceability. This system extends the performance of the standard Joint Electron Device Engineering (JEDEC) memory connectors in said environments without sacrificing high speed electrical performance. The system provides a simple clip which locks the module in place using the standard connector latches preventing relative motion of the connector and the DIMM thereby insuring uninterrupted computational performance. The clip may be formed with resilient ends that snap onto pivotal latching devices to prevent inadvertent opening of these latching devices. The clips may also include bumper spacers () on their opposite faces to engage bumper spacers of adjacent clips to maintain the modules in proper orientation.

System and method for retaining memory modules

A sensor for measuring material properties such as the relaxation modulus of a material in situ and a method of measuring material properties of a material are disclosed. The sensor may be substantially embedded in the material, and includes a deformable driver. When actuated, the deformable driver may create a stress in the adjacent material. The movement or deformation of the driver may be measured with a sensing device, for example a strain gage mounted on a surface thereof. The stress in the adjacent material may be measured with a second sensing device, for example a pressure sensor. The measured movement and stress over a predetermined period of time may he used to determine the relaxation modulus of the material.

Electrostatically charged nonwoven webs (fabrics) are used in displays, quilting, toys, and pattern making. The electrostatic charge causes the nonwoven webs to cling to cloth or paper without the need of pins or connectors. In pattern making the charged nonwoven web is detachably secured to a mastern pattern permitting the web to be marked and cut to form a specific sized pattern which is used to cut cloth in a selected size.

A thermoplastic fabric for use as a support fabric in interfacing, underlining, and applique carries a persistent electrostatic charge that causes the fabrics in contact therewith to cling thereto in a nonslip relationship. This facilitates sewing of the layers together. The preferred support fabric is a nonwoven fabric such as meltblown and spunbonded fabrics.

A device for detachably adhering a manipulative to a substrate using electrostatic charges is described. The invention comprises a thermoplastic substrate having imparted thereto a substantially persistent electrostatic charge with paper and/or fabric manipulatives removably adhered thereto by electrostatic attraction. The present invention may be useful for creating visual displays such as display boards, design boards for quilting patterns, sewing patterns, and toys such as dolls and educational games or aides using manipulatives in visual displays. The substrate is preferably made of polyolefin nonwoven webs, particularly polypropylene or polyethylene meltblown webs.

Electrostatic display device

A chemical vapor deposition system which includes a generally closed reaction chamber having walls formed from a dielectric material. A susceptor for carrying a plurality of semiconductor wafers is positioned within the chamber. An induction coil is positioned in the vicinity of the susceptor for carrying an alternating electric current to produce induction heating of the susceptor and thereby heating the back side of the wafers thereon. Low frequency induction heating and variations in susceptor thickness are used to produce uniformity of temperature. Boundary control arrangement between the susceptor surface and wafer surfaces are used to improve deposition uniformity. A coating is formed on wall portions of the reaction chamber facing the susceptor and wafers carried thereon for reflecting heat energy radiated from the susceptor and the wafers positioned thereon back to the susceptor and the wafers to reduce substantially the heat loss therefrom and thereby to reduce substantially the thermal gradient from front to back surfaces of the wafers.

Induction heated reactor system for chemical vapor deposition

A method of preventing overdisplacement and underdisplacement of proppant during well treatments to hydraulically induce and maintain a fracture in a subterranean formation traversed by a wellbore having a perforated casing. In the practice of the method, ball sealers are incorporated in the trailing end portion of a fracturing fluid-proppant slurry. The ball sealers have a density such that they do not sink in the slurry nor rise in the displacement fluid injected following the slurry. The ball sealers seat on at least some of the well perforations as the final portion of the slurry reaches the perforations. This causes the surface pumping pressure to increase, signalling the end of the treating operation. The detection of the time at which a selected portion of the injected fluid reaches the perforations allows the treatment to be terminated, minimizing proppant overdisplacement and providing for a fully packed fracture in the near-wellbore region. In another embodiment of the method, slurries of different densities are utilized, with the ball sealers having a density such that they remain at the interface between the slurries during the injection process.

Method of controlling displacement of propping agent in fracturing

A method of preventing overdisplacement of propping agent particles during well treatments to hydraulically induce a fracture in a subterranean formation wherein buoyant or neutrally buoyant ball sealers are incorporated in the trailing end portion of the fracturing fluid. The ball sealers seat on at least some of the well perforations in final stages of particle injection thereby causing the surface pumping pressure to increase, signalling the end of the treating operation. This minimizes proppant overdisplacement and provides for a fully packed fracture in the near wellbore region.
