A system including a modulator, a laser source, a mirror, a laser sensor, and a processor. The modulator is movable in a first direction. The laser source is configured to emit laser light in a direction parallel to the surface of the modulator. The mirror is configured to redirect the laser light. The laser sensor is configured to detect a first change in intensity when a particle on the surface of the modulator passes through the laser light emitted by the laser source. The laser sensor is further configured to detect a second change in intensity when the particle on the surface of the modulator passes through the laser light redirected by the at least one mirror. The processor is configured to determine an X-Y location of the particle based on the first change in intensity and the second change in intensity.

Master cylinder assemblies, particularly for operation of the brake or clutch of motorcycles or other ATVs, are susceptible to a reduction in pressure due to the introduction of unwanted gases within the hydraulic lines. As a result, the brake or clutch system may not operate as designed. The present disclosure describes master cylinder assemblies that include one or more fluid separators, with a separator at least at the compensating port of the fluid reservoir to inhibit or prevent air or other gases from entering the piston channel through the compensating or inlet ports.

A brake assembly has a lever configured to press a knee against a pushrod of a piston of a master cylinder assembly. The knee is configured to receive removable inserts that allow a user to modify the angle at which the lever activates the master cylinder assembly. The master cylinder assembly can include protrusions on the outer surface of the cylinder to protect the cylinder from impact damage.

A wheel brake for a bicycle or other vehicle has a pair of pivoting arms. Each arm is configured to support a brake pad. A first arm pivotally supports a cam. A second arm defines a cam surface and a cable guide. The cam has a first end for mounting of a cable and a second end having a roller which rests on the cam surface. When the cable is actuated, the cable pulls the first end of the cam, causing the cam to pivot and causing the second end of the cam to roll along the cam surface. Force applied by the cam compresses the arms, causing associated brake pads to move inwardly into engagement with the wheel. The brake is compact and efficient in design.

A collapsible control lever suitable for use on a motorcycle includes a handlebar mount, an intermediate section and a lever section. The intermediate section and lever section are capable of rotation with respect to the handlebar mount between a relaxed position and an actuated position in order to provide control lever functions, such as disengaging a manual clutch. The lever section is capable of rotation with respect to the intermediate section between a normal position and a fully deflected position in order to avoid damage in the event of the motorcycle overturning. The lever section may be biased to its normal position.

A modified toggle link assembly for a lever action rifle including a modified slide channel that, in at least one embodiment, produces a shorter lever stroke and smoother lever cycle. The modified toggle link may also include a modified profile which defines a hump on an upper surface of the rearward link of the toggle link and a corresponding recess on the forward link. This hump allows for the modified geometry of the slide channel. The slide channel may be a modified straight path or a compound, or non-linear path.

Rifle bolt linkage mechanism

A bicycle seat clamp arrangement including a bicycle seat having a mounting beam extending lengthwise on an underneath side of the bicycle seat and defining a first surface. A clamp assembly is configured to apply a clamping force to the mounting beam and defines a second surface. The first and second surfaces are configured to interlock in order to inhibit relative fore and aft movement of the bicycle seat and the clamp arrangement. In one arrangement, the surfaces comprise a plurality of interlocking gear teeth. In another arrangement, the surfaces comprise a corresponding plurality of projections and depressions. The first and second surfaces may cooperate to form a wedge configuration to inhibit rocking of the bicycle seat relative to the clamp assembly.

A vacuum gripper for use in substrate positioning operations includes a vacuum pad adapted to make contact with the substrate and a shaft connected to the vacuum pad. The shaft is characterized by a first diameter at a portion of the shaft proximal to the vacuum pad and a second diameter at a portion of the shaft distal to the vacuum pad. The vacuum gripper also includes a first air bearing surrounding the portion of the shaft proximal to the vacuum pad, a second air bearing surrounding the portion of the shaft distal to the vacuum pad, and an air source in fluid communication with the first air bearing and the second air bearing. The vacuum gripper further includes an exhaust port, a valve in fluid communication with the exhaust port, and a first flow restrictor in fluid communication with the valve.

A system performs continuous full linear scan of a flat media. The system includes, in part, a chuck, and at least first, second and third gantries. The chuck is adapted to support the flat media during the test. The first gantry includes at least one linear array of non-contacting sensors that spans the width of the flat media and is adapted to move across an entire length of the flat media. Each of the second and third gantries includes a probe head that spans the width of the flat media and each is adapted to apply an electrical signal to the flat media. Each probe head is further adapted to move along a direction substantially perpendicular to the surface of the flat media during the times when the first gantry is in motion and while test signals are being continuously applied.

A control lever assembly suitable for use in connection with an offroad motorcycle. The lever assembly includes a control lever having a finger grip portion and a mount portion. A control lever support has a first flange and a second flange defining a space therebetween to receive the mounted portion of the control lever. The first flange defines a first surface and the second flange defines a second surface facing the first surface. The control lever support is configured to support the mount portion of the control lever between the first and second surfaces for rotation about a pivot axis. The control lever is supported for relative rotation by the control lever support at first and second points along the pivot axis, wherein a distance between the first and second points is greater than a distance between the first and second surfaces.
