A locking pliers preferably includes a fixed jaw, a moveable jaw, a fixed handle, a toggle link, a power link and a jaw link. The fixed jaw is retained in one end of the fixed handle and the moveable jaw is pivotally retained in the one end thereof. An adjustment screw is retained in an opposing end of the fixed handle and engages a first end of the toggle link. A first end of the jaw link is pivotally engaged with a second end of the toggle link. A second end of the jaw link is pivotally engaged with the moveable jaw. One end of a moveable handle is pivotally engaged with a middle of the jaw link. One end of the power link is pivotally engaged with the moveable handle and an opposing end is pivotally engaged with the second end of the toggle link.

The torsion spring preferably includes at least one spring coil, a first spring leg and a second spring leg. The handle includes a first spring hole to receive the first spring leg. The handle cover includes a first pivot extension and a second pivot extension. The adjustment plug preferably includes a sliding plug and a thumb screw. An inner sliding perimeter of the handle cover is sized to receive the sliding plug. The center plug includes a plug hole. The center plug is sized to be received by an inner perimeter of the at least one spring coil. A pivot pin is retained in the first and second pivot extensions and the plug hole, such that the handle pivots relative to the handle cover.

A locking pliers preferably includes a fixed jaw, a moveable jaw, a fixed handle, an adjusting screw, a toggle link, at least one power link, a curved link and a moveable handle. The fixed jaw is retained in a first end of the fixed handle. The moveable jaw is pivotally retained in the first end of the fixed handle. An adjustment screw is retained in a second end of the fixed handle. An end of the adjustment screw engages a first end of the toggle link. The lower handle includes a lower handle portion and a lower pivot portion. The lower jaw preferably includes a lower jaw portion, a pivot boss, a stripper projection and a crimp projection. At least one upper stripper cavity is formed in the stripper projection, which is aligned with the at least one lower stripper cavity formed in the lower pivot portion. The pivot boss is pivotally engaged with the lower pivot portion. A pair of link plates pivotal engage the combination upper handle and jaw with the lower handle. The combination upper handle and jaw includes the upper handle portion and an upper jaw. The upper handle portion is pivotally engaged with the lower jaw portion.

The fixed jaw, the movable jaw, the fixed handle, the adjusting screw and the biasing spring are preferably taken from an Irwin item no. 502L3 vise grips.

The movable handle includes a handle portion and an actuation portion, which extends from the handle portion. The movable jaw is pivotally engaged with a first end of the actuation portion and the power link is pivotally engaged with a second end of the actuation portion.

A one handed quick release locking pliers preferably includes a fixed jaw, a movable jaw, a fixed handle, a toggle link, a power link and a movable handle. The fixed jaw is retained in one end of the fixed. The movable jaw is pivotally retained in the one end of the fixed handle. A toggle link release surface extends from the second end of the toggle link. A toggle link stop projection extends outward from the actuation portion. The toggle link stop projection provides an over-center stop for clamping an object. A power link release projection extends outward from the movable handle, substantially perpendicular to the toggle link stop projection. The power link release projection contacts the power link. Moving a second end of the movable handle away from the fixed handle will cause the power link release projection to push the power link and release a clamped object.

One handed quick release locking pliers

The other end of the second link is pivotally retained by the slide carriage. The rail member is retained in the other end of the stationary handle.
