A method for operating an internal combustion engine using externally supplied ignition, having a manually operable transmission, in which a torque produced by the internal combustion engine is able to be influenced via at least one control variable. An impending shifting process of the manual transmission and/or another operating situation of the internal combustion engine, during which a temporary lowering of the torque produced by the internal combustion engine is required and/or desired, is detected, and, as a function of the detection, the torque is lowered by changing at least one control variable of a fuel path.

Method for operating an internal combustion engine using externally supplied ignition

A method and a device for operating an internal combustion engine provide that a value for a first performance quantity of the internal combustion engine is modeled as a function of at least one second performance quantity different from the first performance quantity, e.g., a charge of the internal combustion engine. This modeling is corrected as a function of a comparison of the modeled value for the first performance quantity with a measured value for the first performance quantity. The correction is performed differently for different operating points of the internal combustion engine.

A method for operating an internal combustion engine having at least two exhaust-gas turbochargers, which allows the synchronous operation of the two exhaust-gas turbochargers to be reliably set (adjusted). For each of the at least two exhaust-gas turbochargers, an actuator for controlling the boost pressure produced by the compressors of the at least two exhaust-gas turbochargers is controlled by a separate control signal. At least one of the control signals is corrected in an open-loop-controlled manner for the purpose of synchronizing the at least two exhaust-gas turbochargers.
