A heat insulating molded body made of inorganic material and inorganic reinforcement fibers is disclosed, as well as a process for producing the same and its use. The molded body is characterized by the following composition: (a) 30-70 wt. % blown vermiculite; (b) 15-40 wt. % inorganic binder; (c) 0-20 wt. % infrared opacifier; (d) 15-50 wt. % microporous material; (e) 0.5-8 wt. % reinforcement fibers which contain maximum 2 wt. % B,O,and at most 2% alkalimetal oxide, based on the weight of the reinforcing fibers.

Heat insulating moulded body and process for producing the same

A radiant cooking unit comprises a heat insulating material forming a heating element carrier to which electrical heating elements are secured. It is surrounded by a ring-shaped bordering element of a heat insulating material relatively rigid in design. Both moldings are molded together by a ram. In another aspect the outer ring is divided into several ring sectors. A hoop of flat material clasps this ring-shaped bordering element on all sides, the latter being configured as a single-turn induction coil for a pot sensing system and simultaneously clamping the unit together.

Radiant cooking unit

A heating unit (1) for a cooking point has an outer heater (3) and an inner heater (4) located concentrically for separately heating an associated surface area (13, 14) of the overall heating surface (2). The two heaters (3, 4) can be differently regulated such that supplied power is periodically switched over and distributed in very short, but variable time intervals in a continuously alternating manner to the two heaters (3, 4). Switching over takes place in the passage of the alternating current characteristic through the zero line. Thus, without influencing a clicking rate, there can be a random power distribution on at least two surface areas (13, 14) of the same heating surface (2) and a high efficiency with a relatively simple control (10).

Electric heating unit with alternately heated surface areas

An apparatus (1) for compensating the maladjustment of a power control means (2) by changes to the ambient temperature operates at least on a partial path against the flat spring (31) of a correcting device (30), after which at least part of the ambient temperature sensor (20) of the apparatus (1) is fixed against further deflection by a stop (34), so that the actual values of the power setting correspond to the set desired values substantially independently of the ambient temperature. For the correction spring (31) or for the stop (34) it is not necessary to provide a separate component, if use is made for the same of the already present twisting preventer (28) or a carrier (18).

Device for controlling an ambient influence on equipment

The rim of an electric radiant heater is formed by a multilayer body (13). It can have the cross-sectional shape of a U, whose interior is filled with a good insulating material. In the interior (23) is placed a sensor coil (23) for a pot detection system, where it is well shielded against heat and mechanical influences.

Electric radiant heater

For an electric hotplate is provided an assembly arrangement using a bearing ring, which forms a continuous, one-piece, smooth-surface top extending from the outermost circumferential area of the hotplate body located close to the cooking surface to its outer circumference or to the mounting plate and has a relatively shallow collecting depression for liquid which has flowed over between an inner and an outer ring profile. With the hotplate or bearing ring can be associated at least one shield and at least one locking and/or centering device for position fixing purposes, so that there is a simple and positionally accurate assembly. The bearing ring can also be stop-limited towards the bottom against deformation.

Electric hotplate

An electric hotplate has leads projecting from the underside and whose ends form connecting pins and provided with plugging pieces in the form of flat plugging tongues, connected by plugging connections to matching plugs of apparatus lines. On the plugging pieces is mounted an insulator which, like the plugging pieces, forms a preassembled unit and can be transferred from a stacking position into a connection position. The matching plug can be formed by a socket with stops acting in and counter to the plugging direction and whereof one is constructed so that it automatically snaps in.

For an electric hotplate (2) is provided an assembly arrangement (1) using a bearing ring (10), which forms a continuous, one-piece, smooth-surface top extending from the outermost circumferential area of the hotplate body (23) located close to the cooking surface (24) to its outer circumference or to the mounting plate (3) and has a relatively shallow collecting depression (13) for liquid which has flowed over between an inner and an outer ring profile (11, 12). With the hotplate or bearing ring can be associated at least one shield and at least one locking and/or centering device for position fixing purposes, so that there is a simple and positionally accurate assembly. The bearing ring (10) can also be stop-limited towards the bottom against deformation.

In an electric switching device (1), particularly constructed as a temperature regulator, the resilient switching arm (14) controlled by a hydraulic expansion cell (12) for operating a snap switch (5) is fixed by means of positively engaging snap connections (32) to plate-like support parts (20) of a sheet metal support body (3) of a body (2), the support parts (20) on either side of the switching arm (14) being at right angles to joint axis (25) of arm (14) as lateral bends to a base plate (30) of support body (3) and receive between them an end portion of an insulator (4) carrying the switch (5). This leads to an extremely favourable taking up of forces, so that the support body (3) can be made from extremely thin sheet metal as a relatively elastic component. It also leads to a very simple assembly of the switching arm (14).

Switching device

An electric hotplate has a hot plate body and plugging pieces for connection to connecting members of supply lines. A stacking aid is provided for receiving a plurality of hotplates in a multilayer stack, the stacking aid having pallet plates providing receptacles for receiving the plugging pieces of each single hotplate laterally outside of each single hotplate.

Electric hotplate stacking aid

An electric cooking appliance has a sheet steel, glass, ceramic or glass ceramic carrier plate (15), to whose underside are applied for electrical heating purposes thick film resistors (16). It can be constructed as a large-area plate with several cooking points, or as an individual hotplate, which is received in a mounting rim (26). Temperature limitation and regulation sensors (22) are applied in the form of film resistance sensors to the underside of the carrier plate.

Cooking appliance

For the transportation-storage and assembly stacking of electric hotplates (2), a stacking air has pallet plates (10) to be arranged in superimposed manner in stacking layers and which can be directly stacked in one another for storage and which are in the form of deep drawn plastic plate parts with grid-distributed flat shells (19), which in each case projecting beyond the open side with the cooking surface (4) receive in centering manner the lower part of an electric hotplate (2) and are supported with respect to the cooking surfaces of the adjacent stacking layer by means of a slide preventing means (31), but are otherwise contact-free. Thus, on a support pallet and protected by a packing sleeve it is possible to stack a very large number of hotplates (2) in a stable manner, with the same orientation and therefore having good assembly access. Following an assembly process performable fully automatically with programmable handling means, the in each case necessary hotplates (2) are set down oriented upside down and then a mounting plate is mounted upside down and secured with a locking part with respect to the hotplates. Then, optionally by spot welding joints, the connecting members (33) of hotplate (2) are connected to a connecting piece for connecting lines and the thus formed assembled mounting plate is supplied to a stack.

Hotplate stacking aid

In an electric hotplate (1), the hotplate body (4) has a throughbore (28) located in its central axis (10) and traversing a central stud (7) and the top surface and in which can be arranged in countersunk manner the head (26) of a fastening bolt (25) projecting over the underside of central stud (7). On the underside of the hotplate (1) is provided for the electrical connection thereof a connecting piece (16) of an electrical snap closure coupling (20), so that hotplate (1) in simple manner and with limited tool expenditure permits a rapid assembly from the top of a mounting plate (2) and, if necessary, can also be rapidly replaced.

In a cooker plate (1) connection of the particular electric hotplate (3) a window opening (19) is provided as an assembly opening in a holding part (5) substantially completely covering the same on the underside, through which can be passed a connecting piece (21) for the electrically conducting connection to the connecting members (15) of hotplate (3). This window opening (19) can be substantially completely closed with a closure (20), the latter being constructed in one piece with a ceramic insulator (22) of connecting piece (21) or can be formed by a separate component made from sheet metal or the like. This leads to a very reliable and effective closure of the cooker plate (1), also on the underside thereof.

Cooker plate

In an electric heating unit (1), at least one heating circuit of a heating resistor (2) is arranged as a coated or printed conductor track and is consequently arranged by means of an adhesive joint (16) on a support (3) made from a high temperature-resistant synthetic paper. The unit is fixed, on its bare side remote from the heating resistor and by means of a whole-surface adhesive joint (13), directly to the associated reception side (11) of the body (10) to be heated. The adhesive joint (13) is appropriately formed by an adhesive layer (14) of silicone resin adhesive or the like, or a self-adhesive layer with a thickness of a few tenths of a millimeter and which permanently in stress-compensating manner has roughly the same thermal stability as the support (3). At least one heating circuit can be switched by means of a mechanical temperature switch with high switching hysteresis.
