Methods and system for network monitoring is provided. The system includes a communication circuit configured to receive network information from one or more components of a medical network for a select time period, and a controller circuit having one or more processors coupled to the communication circuit. The controller circuit is configured to determine a configuration and data usage of the medical network based on the network information at reference points along the time period of interest. The controller circuit is configured to generate a graphical representation of a topology of the medical network on a display based on the configuration of the medical network at one of the reference points. The graphical representation includes a plurality of component markers, representing the one or more components, interconnected with each other, and a visual status indicator for the one or more components based on the data usage.

Methods and systems for network monitoring

In the present invention, a communication network management system and method is provided that includes a central processing unit (CPU) including an individual and device recognition analysis engine located within the system on computer-readable-medium having the analysis instructions stored thereon in a non-transitory manner, a recognition device operably connected to the CPU and analysis engine and a transceiver configured to transmit and receive wireless signals between the CPU and various patient care devices located within a coverage area defined by the transceiver. The analysis engine receives information from the recognition device regarding the occupancy of the coverage area and identifies the individuals and devices occupying the coverage area to determine the adequacy of the network to accommodate the potential usage and interference levels resulting from the coverage area occupancy. The system can then alter the network configuration to provide adequate bandwidth and signal strength for the coverage area, as necessary.

A patient monitoring system is disclosed herein. The patient monitoring system includes a computer adapted to assess the health of a patient, and to generate a health status indicator for the patient. The health status indicator comprising a visual gradient adapted to visually convey the assessed health of the patient. The system also includes a display operatively connected to the computer. The display is configured to display the health status indicator comprising the visual gradient.

A sortable and space efficient graphical user interface and a system for the efficient display of sortable data are disclosed herein. The graphical user interface may include at least one column, at least one row and a data cell defined by the intersection of at least one column and at least one row. First and second data may be displayed in the data cell. A first header is associated with the first column and identifies the first data. A second header is associated with the first column and identifies the second data. In the system for displaying sortable data, a graphical user interface is displayed upon a graphical display. A table is displayed as at least a portion of the graphical user interface, the table having a column with a plurality of rows, each row displaying first and second data and a first header associated with a first data and a second header associated with the second data.

A telemetry system is disclosed herein. The telemetry system includes a transmitter/monitor configured to provide tracking data and monitoring data, and a receiver adapted to define a coverage area. The receiver is configured to receive the tracking data and the monitoring data from the transmitter/monitor when the transmitter/monitor is within the coverage area. The telemetry system also includes a processor configured to receive the tracking data and the monitoring data from the receiver, analyze the tracking data and the monitoring data, and identify an alarm condition based on the analysis of the tracking data and the monitoring data.

The receiver is configured to receive the tracking data from the transmitter only when the transmitter is within the coverage area. The telemetry system also includes a processor configured to receive the tracking data from the receiver. The processor is configured to estimate the location of the transmitter when the transmitter is outside the coverage area based on the tracking data.
