STAXLINK™ is a duct system and method for conveying exhaust gas from an exhaust pipe of an emissions source to a purification unit during an Emissions Reduction as a Service (ERaaS) operation. Example emissions sources include oceangoing vessels and buildings structures. The duct is temporarily installed onto the emissions source without a crane. The duct is supported by the emissions source itself for the duration of the ERaaS operation.

Apparatus for emissions reduction as a service (ERaaS)

A novel emissions control watercraft (STAXcraft) solving a long-felt but unsolved need regarding disadvantages associated with prior-art emissions servicing watercraft, the disadvantages selected from the group, but not limited to, the use of tugboats, securing or mooring servicing watercraft to a serviced vessel, additional expenses and time-delays and inefficiencies of land-based approaches, increased toxic emissions, increased greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions, danger from falling cargo, tanker safety, alongside mooring in narrow channels preventing other OGV's to pass safely, and cargo tank emissions.

Emissions control watercraft

An oceangoing vessel exhaust pipe coupling used to temporarily couple to an oceangoing vessel exhaust pipe. Installation and removal of the coupling only requires a simple mechanism with three translational degrees of freedom and one rotational degree of freedom, thereby enabling remote coupling. The coupling adapts to a wide array of exhaust pipe shapes and sizes. This is accomplished by a unique shape that allows stable and balanced resting position on top of an exhaust pipe as well as a two-chamber configuration, wherein the two chambers are separated by a permeable partition. Furthermore, the unique shapes of the chambers deflect the exhaust gas stream towards the outlet of the coupling, regardless of exhaust pipe style, thereby increasing capture efficiency and extending the life of an attached fabric flexible hose.

Given that power blackouts occur very infrequently, a TRANSportable GENset emissions reduction system (XGEN) that fixes a larger and more significant problem of reducing emissions from routine periodic testing of gensets, whereas the system may be scheduled to be shared by a multitude of gensets, thereby reducing costs through efficient use of capital expenditures while also increasing the quality of emissions reductions as compared to applying individual exhaust treatments each genset.

Road-transportable genset emissions reduction system

STAXLINK&#x2122; is a duct system and method for conveying exhaust gas from an exhaust pipe of an emissions source to a purification unit during an Emissions Reduction as a Service (ERaaS) operation. Example emissions sources include oceangoing vessels and buildings structures. The duct is temporarily installed onto the emissions source without a crane. The duct is supported by the emissions source itself for the duration of the ERaaS operation.

A multi-circuit system for temporarily connecting to a plurality of exhaust pipes of an oceangoing vessel at berth or at anchor and treating captured exhaust gas. Each circuit includes an exhaust gas processing system, a duct system to reach from the processing system to an exhaust pipe; a duct inlet port for attachment to a connector receiving exhaust gas from an exhaust pipe. A positioning system supports the duct systems and connectors in a ganged relationship and positions the duct systems and connectors in a temporary operational position and in a non-operational position. In another embodiment, blower controller is responsive to a pressure measurement at the duct inlet port or the connector to control a blower speed to set or maintain the pressure to a desired pressure.

Multiple duct system for conveying exhaust gas from oceangoing vessels to a treatment system

Transportable genset emissions reduction system

A positionable emissions control watercraft that may be placed near a serviced watercraft in a location that is away from the risk of falling cargo, while also eliminating a need for a spacer or a spacer barge, and allowing other service watercraft to access the serviced watercraft.

Positionable emissions control watercraft

In accordance with one embodiment, a servicing watercraft that may be safely secured to a serviced watercraft. The servicing watercraft comprises at least one auxiliary section that may be positioned to either a) increase the effective width of the servicing watercraft thus reducing rolling motion while the servicing watercraft is stationary or in operation, OR b) decrease the width of the servicing watercraft thus reducing drag while the watercraft is moving through the water. Furthermore, the auxiliary section(s) help the servicing watercraft to be positioned in an optimum location adjacent to the serviced watercraft as to avoid impact from accidently dropped cargo or shipping containers from the serviced watercraft.

Device and method for securing a watercraft

In accordance with one embodiment, a self-propelled emissions control servicing watercraft that does not require transportation by tugboat and utilizes a hydraulic power unit that supplies hydraulic power to a hydraulic positioning arm during 'service mode' and alternately uses the same hydraulic power unit to supply hydraulic power to hydraulic propulsion thrusters during 'mobile mode'.

Self-propelled emissions control servicing watercraft

In accordance with at least one embodiment of an exhaust treatment system whereby parallel sections of exhaust filters such as Diesel particulate filters (DPF's) and a catalyst such as a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system are integrated together while efficiently maintaining the temperature requirements of both. The parallel exhaust filter sections that may be heated and/or regenerated individually thereby facilitating catalyst temperature control and modulation of pressure drop across the exhaust filters.

Sectioned exhaust filter system

A liquid conservation device that utilizes a heat exchanger to condense water vapor from exhaust gas emanating from an exhaust treatment. Water evaporated during the emissions control process is recovered and returned for reuse, thereby significantly reducing the water requirement of the exhaust treatment. This is especially helpful for a mobile emissions control system that is normally not directly connected to a water utility.

Liquid conservation device for an exhaust treatment

An exhaust gas collection system for capturing exhaust gas emitted by auxiliary engines, auxiliary boilers and other sources on an Ocean Going Vessel (OGV) while at berth or anchor, so that these gases may be carried to an emissions treatment system for removal of air pollutants and greenhouse gases. The exhaust gas collection system includes a diverter to redirect exhaust gas normally carried to the OGV's stack for release to the atmosphere, to an emissions treatment system. The emissions treatment system may be land-based, water-based, or on the OGV. When the emissions treatment system is land-based or water-based, the exhaust gas is carried to a connection location that accessible by a ducting system to carry the exhaust gas to the emissions treatment system. The exhaust gas collection system preferably includes parallel-flow ducts and a manifold to combine the parallel-flows into a single duct for more convenient routing through the vessel.

Exhaust gas diverter and collection system for ocean going vessels

An improved Exhaust Intake Bonnet (EIB) for an Advanced Maritime Emissions Control System (AMECS) includes a shroud carried by a rigid upper frame and a lowerable and raisable rigid lower frame. The upper frame includes a peak with a duct for receiving exhaust gasses captured by the shroud and winches for lowering and raising the lower frame. The shroud is expandable when the lower frame is lowered and collapsible when the lower frame is raised and has a cinchable base. The AMECS is joined to a ship by positioning the EIB over a ship's exhaust stack using a deployment arm. The shroud is then lowered over the stack and then cinched around the stack to provide a soft attachment between the EIB and the ship's stack. Later, the steps are reversed to separate the AMECS from the ship.

Exhaust intake bonnet (EIB) for maritime emissions control system

An exhaust gas capture system for capturing the exhaust gas emitted by auxiliary engines, auxiliary boilers, and other sources on an Ocean Going Vessel (OGV) while at berth or at anchor so that these gases may be carried to an emissions treatment system for removal of air pollutants and or greenhouse gases. The exhaust gas capture system includes a manifold and a family of parallel-flow flexible ducts for connecting directly to individual OGV exhaust pipes. The exhaust gas capture system further includes apparatus for connecting the parallel-flow flexible ducts to the OGV exhaust pipes.
