The present invention discloses a method to recover and restore dendritic and synaptic neuron connections that have been degraded or destroyed by neurodegenerative diseases. In the present invention tryptamines are used to induce neuro plasticity and restore both dendritic density and synaptic connections of neurons in the brain. In the preferred embodiment LSD given in micro doses can induce dendritic and synaptic genesis in neuronal networks and improve the quality of life of people with neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's, Huntington's, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's and Frontotemporal dementia.

An apparatus for locating an embedded passive integrated transponder (PIT) tag is provided. An embodiment of the locating apparatus includes a resonator capable of electromagnetically coupling to the PIT tag, and a feedback circuit connected to the resonator and configured to monitor a load conductance of the resonator. A distance between the resonator and the PIT tag is indicated by a change in the monitored load conductance when the resonator and the PIT tag are electromagnetically coupled. Another embodiment includes a resonator capable of stimulating a response signal from a PIT tag, and a processing circuit capable of calculating the distance between the resonator and the PIT tag based on the amplitude of the response signal.

Method and apparatus for locating passive integrated transponder tags

A probe including a first sensor having a first magnetometer and a first accelerometer and a second sensor having a second magnetometer and a second accelerometer is configured for determining the distance and direction to a marker. The marker may be magnetic and may be surgically inserted into a patient's body to mark a specific location. The probe may be used to locate the marker, thus identifying the location. The probe may include a microprocessor that receives an output from the first sensor and an output from the second sensor and determines the distance and direction to the marker.

A touch sensor having conductive circuits on both surfaces of a substrate is fabricated by including UV-blocking material into the substrate or depositing UV-blocking layer on the substrate. This can be used for fabricating sensors having transparent conductor circuits, or having metallic circuits, which are opaque to visible light. Photoresist is applied to both surfaces of the substrate and patterns are transferred to the photoresist by exposure to UV radiation. The UV-blocking layer prevents UV-radiation applied to one side from exposing the opposite side. If desired, both photoresist layers may be exposed simultaneously by splitting one UV beam.

Light reflection from a metal mesh touch sensor is reduced or prevented by encasing the metal lines with a passivation coating and including non-reflective nanoparticles in the patterning photoresist. The nanoparticles may be carbon coated metallic particles, or uncoated palladium nanoparticles. The present disclosure provides a method of manufacturing and differentiating mammalian stem cells, and in one embodiment human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSc), e.g., manufacturing neuron progenitors, e.g., derived from iPSC, on a large scale by the use of an automated hollow fiber reactor system. In one embodiment, human iPSc that can be differentiated into cardiomyocytes or neuron progenitors are provided. The method comprises seeding a hollow fiber reactor with stem cells such as iPSc, or differentiated iPSc, growing and expanding the seeded cells using appropriate growth factors and nutrients, and harvesting the cells after expansion from the hollow fiber reactor walls, e.g., with the use of an enzyme. The method can produce billions of cells per week from seeding the reactor with a minimum number of starting stem cells or neuron progenitor cells.
