The invention relates to compounds of formula I and to pharmaceutically acceptable salts, prodrugs, solvates or hydrates thereof; wherein B, D, E, R, R, R, R, R, R, m, n, p, q, r, s, t and u are as defined herein. This invention also relates to a method of using such compounds in the treatment of hyperproliferative diseases and autoimmune diseases in mammals, especially humans, and to pharmaceutical compositions containing such compounds.

The invention relates to NEP inhibitors for treating cardiovascular disorders. Preferred NEP inhibitors are compounds of formula (I) wherein Ris C&#x2013;Calkyl, C&#x2013;CalkoxyC&#x2013;Calkyl or C&#x2013;CalkoxyC&#x2013;CalkoxyC&#x2013;Calkyl; Ris hydrogen or C&#x2013;Calkyl; L is a three atom linkage selected from &#x2014;CH&#x2014;X&#x2014;CH&#x2014; and &#x2014;CH&#x2014;CH&#x2014;X&#x2014; where the right hand side of the linkage is attached to Rand where X is oxygen, sulfur or methylene; Ris phenyl or aromatic heterocyclyl, either of which may be independently substituted by one or more groups selected from: C&#x2013;Calkyl, halo, haloC&#x2013;Calkyl, C&#x2013;Calkoxy, haloC&#x2013;Calkoxy, C&#x2013;Calkylthio, haloC&#x2013;Calkylthio and nitrile; and Rand Rare either both hydrogen, or one of Rand Ris hydrogen and the other is a biolabile ester-forming group that in the body of a patient is replaced by hydrogen.

Compounds according to formula (I) wherein n is 0-3, Ris optionally substituted Calkyl, Calkenyl, or Calkynyl, Heterocycle, Aromatic heterocycle, Aryl or hydrogen and R, R, R, R, R, R, Rand Rare each independently selected from hydrogen and optionally substituted Calkyl, or Rand Rare an alkylene chain, are novel. They are useful in the treatment of thrombotic conditions and other pathologies associated with fibrin deposition

Compounds according to formula (I) wherein n is 0-3, R is optionally substituted C alkyl, C alkenyl, or C alkynyl, Heterocycle, Aromatic heterocycle, Aryl or hydrogen and R , R , R , R , R , R , R and R are each independently selected from hydrogen and optionally substituted C alkyl, or R and R are an alkylene chain, are novel. They are useful in the treatment of thrombotic conditions and other pathologies associated with fibrin deposition.
