A method and communication device for processing data for transmission from the communication device to a second communication device is provided. It is detected that the data comprises an attachment. An address of a copy of the attachment is determined, the attachment present on a storage device external to the communication devices. An address of the copy of the attachment is substituted in the data such that the copy is retrievable at the second communication device via the address. The data is then transmitted to the second communication device.

In a handheld communication device capable of a plurality of wireless communication modes, a method of communication begins by receiving, at the handheld communication device, a notification of an available one of the wireless communication modes. Then, in a data communication window of the communication device, a user-indication of an active one of the available wireless communication modes is provided in accordance with the received communication mode indication. The data communication window is configured to facilitate data communication via the plurality of wireless communication modes, and facilitates the data communication via the active wireless communication mode.

The invention provides a system and method of provisioning a resource to an electronic device. The method comprises the steps of: (a) maintaining a library of resources at a remote server from the device; (b) after a triggering event, providing a data transmission to the device, the data transmission containing access information for the library that can be extracted by the device and used to access the library; and (c) after a selection event initiated on the device for a specific resource from the library, providing a second data transmission to the device, the second data transmission containing a copy of the specific resource. System and method for provisioning a remote resource for an electronic device

The disclosure recites a device, system and method for provisioning resources from a server in a network to a mobile electronic device. The method comprises: after the electronic device has been approved for an initial registration with the communications network, receiving a data transmission at the electronic device from the communication network, the data transmission containing access information relating to a resource in a library that is the communication network; extracting the access information from the data transmission at the electronic device; sending a request from the electronic device to the communication network for a second data transmission containing a copy of the resource to the electronic device; downloading the resource from the communication network; and integrating the resource into an application as an output generated by the application.

A method and apparatus for a method for processing data on a computing device are provided. The computing device comprises a processing unit interconnected with a memory device and a display device. First message data is stored in the memory device. An indication that first flag data is to be stored in association with the first message data is received. The first flag data is stored in the memory device in association with the first message data. The first message is displayed in association with the first flag data at the display device in a message list view. Second message data is received and automatically associated with the first message data. In response to the automatic associating: the first flag data is removed from the display device; second flag data is stored in association with the second message data in the memory device and the second message data is displayed on the display device in association with the second flag data in the message list view, the second message data flagged on the display device rather than the first message data.
