A mild to the skin, foaming detergent composition comprising: a) 1 to 20 wt % sophorolipid biosurfactant, b) 1 to 20 wt % of anionic surfactant selected from the group consisting of glycinate, sulphosuccinate, and mixtures thereof, c) 0 to 10 wt % foam boosting surfactant, d) 0 to 2 wt % additional electrolyte, e) 0 to 10 wt % additional additives, f) 40 to 98 wt % water. The anionic surfactant is preferably disodium laureth-3-sulphosuccinate. The electrolyte may be sodium chloride, the foam boosting surfactant may be olivamidopropyl betaine and the additional additives may be silicones, polymers, structurants, thickeners or pH adjusters. A preferred additive is a dispersed modified cellulose biopolymer as structurant. The composition is suitable for personal wash, shower gel and shampoo formulations.

Mild to the skin, foaming detergent composition

A structured aqueous detergent composition comprising modified cellulose and surfactant characterized in that the composition comprises: a) 0.2 to 10 wt %, preferably 0.4 to 7 wt %, anionic surfactant or zwitterionic surfactant or mixtures thereof, b) 0.5 to 5 wt %, preferably 1 to 2 wt %, dispersed modified cellulose biopolymer, wherein the modification consists of the cellulose having its C6 primary alcohols oxidized to carboxyl moieties (acid/COOH&#x2014;) on 10 to 70% of the glucose units and substantially all the remainder of the C6 positions occupied by unmodified primary alcohols, c) 0 to 10 wt % non-surfactant electrolyte; d) 0 to 15 wt % other conventional detergent composition additives e) balance water. The invention also provides a method to manufacture the composition.

Structured aqueous detergent compositions

The detergent composition of the invention contains a combination of an anionic surfactant, a defined nonionic surfactant of high hydrophilic/lipophilic balance (HLB) value, optionally a cationic surfactant, optionally a detergency builder, optionally an inorganic non-builder salt, an optionally a polycarboxylate polymer. Further optional detergent ingredients may also be present. The amount of the anionic surfactant is from 5 to 40, preferably from 7 to 30 wt % and the amount of the nonionic surfactant is from 1 to 20, preferably from 1 to 10 wt %, based on the weight of the total composition.

Laundry detergent composition

A method for the treatment of waste water by the generation of radicals in the waste water comprises applying to the waste water at least one substance which is capable of providing radicals in the waste water. The substance decomposes by a unimolecular mechanism or by hydrogen abstraction to form a carbon-containing radical on exposure to light or heat.

Water treatment

The treatment of fabric by coating with from 0.01 to 2% by weight on weight of fabric of a polymer composition comprising a thermoplastic elastomer improves the crease recovery properties and/or elasticity and/or tensile strength of a fabric.

Product adapted for use in a fabric laundering process which is in the form of a self-supporting aqueous gel and which comprises one or more fabric treatment agents, a gelling agent and one or more surfactants comprising a polypeptide or polysaccharide.

Laundry product

Fabric care products and sprayable compositions comprise at least one amine- or amide-epichlorohydrin resin or derivative thereof. The fabric care products are adapted for use in a tumble dryer and may comprise a substrate, such as a flexible sheet or sponge or a dispenser such as a dosing ball, for delivery of the resin. The sprayable compositions are applied to the fabric prior to tumble drying. The products and compositions may be used in a laundering process to improve the appearance and/or texture of fabrics.

Dryer-added fabric care compositions containing amide-epichlorohydrin resins

A built particulate detergent composition for fabric washing, containing not more than 10 wt. % of water-insoluble builder and not more than 10 wt. % of water, contains a high level (40-90 wt. %) of a nonionic surfactant component consisting wholly or predominantly of a nonionic surfactant solid at ambient temperature, for example, alkylpolyglycoside or lactobionamide. Liquid nonionic surfactant and other cosurfactants may be present in limited amounts. A detergency builder is also present, the ratio of builder to nonionic surfactant not exceeding 1:1.
