A gaming controller is provided. The gaming controller includes a controller; a plurality of input positions; and a plurality of input modules, each input module configured to receive user input to the gaming controller. The plurality of input modules are connected to the controller to form a ring network. Each of the plurality of input modules is connected to the ring network through a different one of the input positions. The controller is configured to initiate a transmission of a data packet around the ring network, and each input module is configured to enter data into a different section of the data packet. Each input module is configured to determine the section of the data packet to enter data into based on one or more of (1) a type of that input module and (2) whether one or more sections of the data packet already include data from one of the input modules.

A configurable headset includes a stock open-back configuration, wherein an audio profile for the headset in the stock open-back configuration is optimized. When the stock open-back configuration is physically modified to a closed-back configuration, the audio profile degrades, but is manually or automatically improved through selection of a pre-programmed compensated audio profile via an audio profile controller in communication with the configurable headset.

Wireless game/audio system and method

Methods and systems for providing multiple audio streams, such as a game audio stream and network chat audio stream, to a headset of a user of a gaming device are described. An exemplary system may include a gaming device having a port and that is adapted to transmit game audio and network chat to a transceiver inserted into the port thereof. The transceiver may be configured to receive local user chat. The system may also include a transceiver inserted into the port of the gaming device, the transceiver adapted to receive the game audio and the network chat transmitted from the gaming device, transmit the received game audio and network chat to a wireless headset, receive local user chat from the wireless headset, and transmit the received local user chat to the gaming device. In certain embodiments, the system may include at least one wireless headset wirelessly connected to the transceiver, the headset including a microphone and being adapted to receive the game audio and network chat from the transceiver, receive local user chat from the microphone, and transmit the local user chat wirelessly to the transceiver.

A microphone assembly includes a microphone array carrier having a top surface and a plurality of side faces adjacent to the top surface. The top surface and the plurality of side faces each have a substantially planar portion. The substantially planar portion of each of the side faces extends substantially perpendicular to the substantially planar portion of the top surface. Each side face has a side opening extending through the side face and the top surface has a top opening extending through the top surface. The microphone assembly also includes a plurality of microphones corresponding to the side faces. Each microphone is mounted with a microphone boot in a side opening and is isolated from the microphone array carrier by the microphone boot. The microphone assembly also includes a housing extending around the microphone array carrier and sound isolating material disposed between the microphone array carrier and the housing.

A compact low cost beamforming microphone assembly for a desk telephone is described. The assembly includes a microphone carrier array having a top surface and having faces arrayed about an exterior surface, each to receive a microphone. Each microphone is mounted in a microphone boot and inserted into a microphone carrier. The carrier array fits into a housing having a cover allowing sound to reach the microphones.
