The application relates to a shaped detergent product comprising 10-100 wt. % of a solid amorphous phase and 0-90 wt. % of one or more other solid phases, wherein the solid amorphous phase comprises 25-88 wt. % free acid equivalent of aminopolycarboxylate, 10-60 wt. % free acid equivalent of an acid, wherein the acid is not an aminopolycarboxylate and 2-30 wt. % water and wherein the shaped detergent product contains at least 0.5 wt. % surfactant.

The present invention relates to a pourable thixotropic detergent composition comprising a continuous phase and at least 0.3 wt. % of suspended particles comprising water-soluble surfactant, said continuous phase containing at least 10 wt. % of an aminocarboxylate chelant and at least 10 wt. % of water and said water-soluble surfactant being selected from aryl sulfonate surfactant, alkyl sulfate surfactant and combinations thereof. The pourable detergent composition offers the advantage that it does not exhibit significant demixing during storage.

The present invention concerns a process for the preparation of free flowing granules of low hygroscopicity of one or more methylglycine diacetic acid (MGDA) salts, of the formula wherein R&#x2550;CH3 and M is hydrogen, alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, ammonium or substituted ammonium in the appropriate stoechiometric amounts, by a process comprising the steps of i) heating a concentrated slurry comprising methylglycine diacetic acid (MGDA) and/or any salts thereof, the slurry having a solids content in the range of 45% to 70% and suitably in the range from 50% to 70%, and a moisture content of 30% up to 55%, and suitably between 30% and 50%, to a temperature in the range of 50 to 120&#xb0; C., preferably to about 80&#xb0; C., and ii) spray granulating said slurry, using an air inlet temperature of 120&#xb0; C. or less.
