A device for repairing a defect in a soft tissue is disclosed, the device including a first anchor engaging a first surface of the soft tissue on a first side of the defect, the first anchor having a locking mechanism, a second anchor for engaging against a second side of the soft tissue on a second side of the defect, and a suture adjustably connecting the second anchor to the first anchor.

Soft tissue locking device

A device for locking a suture in place without the need for tying knots once the suture is placed within tissue is provided. The device comprises an anchor having a cannula and a locking mechanism for securing the suture within the cannula.

Suture locking device

An orthopaedic brace includes a strut length adjustment assembly to change the operable length of the strut for sizing the brace on a patient without the need for special tools or cutting of the strut. The adjustment assembly includes a biased adjustment mechanism that coacts with a plurality of notches in the strut to variably set/position the strut relative to the adjustment assembly to set the struts length. The invention disclosed is a device for locking a suture in place without the need for tying knots once the suture is placed within tissue. The device comprises a locking ring, the locking ring comprising a series of laminated sheets having an aperture formed to allow the suture to pass when pulled in a first direction, but formed to lock the suture in place when the suture is pulled in an opposite direction.

A device and a method for measuring distances between two points is described. In particular, the device and method may be used in a surgical setting. In one embodiment, the device comprises an extension for extending into the body through an incision, the extension having a distal tip for insertion into the body and a proximal handle for remaining outside the body; a first measuring end and a second measuring end at the distal tip, the first and second measuring ends at a predetermined angle from each other and defining a distance between the first and second measuring ends, the first measuring end being movable relative to the distal tip, the first and second measuring ends being rounded; and an actuator at the proximal handle for moving the first measuring end relative to the distal tip.

The invention disclosed is a device for repairing a soft tissue defect, particularly a defect in the meniscus of a knee. The device comprises an outer wall anchor for engaging against an outside wall of the meniscus on a first side of the defect, an inner meniscal anchor engaging an inner surface of the meniscus on a second side of the defect, the inner meniscal anchor having a locking mechanism, and a suture adjustably connecting the outer wall anchor to the inner meniscal anchor. Tension on the suture pulls the defect together and the locking mechanism then locks the suture in place.

Strength fixation device

The invention provides a modular three-component assembly for replacing a portion of a patient's femur or humerus. A neck component attaches directly to a stem component that inserts into the bone, and a body component that also inserts into the bone is attached to the neck component and/or to the stem component. Methods for assembling the prosthesis are also provided, wherein the stem component is inserted within the body component, and the stem component is joined to the neck component. The prosthesis may be constructed from the components outside of the patient, or, components of the prosthesis may be inserted into the patient prior to final assembly of the prosthesis during surgery.
