An absorbent composition includes an amino-siloxane having structure (I): wherein Ris independently at each occurrence a C-Caliphatic or aromatic radical; Ris independently at each occurrence a C-Caliphatic or aromatic radical; Ris independently at each occurrence a hydrogen atom or a C-Caliphatic or aromatic radical; Ris independently at each occurrence a C-Caliphatic or aromatic radical or R, wherein Rcomprises structure (II): wherein X is independently at each occurrence an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom; w is between 0 and 5; y is between 0 and 10; and z is between 0 and 10; wherein, when Ris Rcomprising the structure (II), a sum of w, y, and z is greater than or equal to 0, and, when Ris not R, a sum of w, y, and z is greater than or equal to 1.

A method for treatment of a flue gas involves feeding the flue gas and a lean solvent to an absorber. The method further involves reacting the flue gas with the lean solvent within the absorber to generate a clean flue gas and a rich solvent. The method also involves feeding the clean flue gas from the absorber and water from a source, to a wash tower to separate a stripped portion of the lean solvent from the clean flue gas to generate a washed clean flue gas and a mixture of the water and the stripped portion of the lean solvent. The method further involves treating at least a portion of the mixture of the water and the stripped portion of the lean solvent via a separation system to separate the water from the stripped portion of the lean solvent.

An efficient and cost-effective process of carbon dioxide recycling in enhanced oil recovery wells or in fracturing wells is provided. Amino-siloxane composition and methods of using the same

The present invention is directed to aminosilicone solvent recovery methods and systems. The methods and systems disclosed herein may be used to recover aminosilicone solvent from a carbon dioxide containing vapor stream, for example, a vapor stream that leaves an aminosilicone solvent desorber apparatus. The methods and systems of the invention utilize a first condensation process at a temperature from about 80&#xb0; C. to about 150&#xb0; C. and a second condensation process at a temperature from about 5&#xb0; C. to about 75&#xb0; C. The first condensation process yields recovered aminosilicone solvent. The second condensation process yields water.

Aminosilicone solvent recovery methods and systems

A power generation system includes a fuel cell including an anode that generates a tail gas. The system also includes a hydrocarbon fuel reforming system that mixes a hydrocarbon fuel with the fuel cell tail gas and to convert the hydrocarbon fuel and fuel tail gas into a reformed fuel stream including CO. The reforming system further splits the reformed fuel stream into a first portion and a second portion. The system further includes a COremoval system coupled in flow communication with the reforming system. The system also includes a first reformed fuel path coupled to the reforming system. The first path channels the first portion of the reformed fuel stream to an anode inlet. The system further includes a second reformed fuel path coupled to the reforming system. The second path channels the second portion of the reformed fuel stream to the COremoval system.

A silicone polymer is provided, modified with at least one functional group from the class of anthraquinone amide groups; anthraquinone sulfonamide groups; thioxanthone amide groups; or thioxanthone sulfone amide groups. The polymer can be combined with a hydrocarbon solvent or with supercritical carbon dioxide (CO), and is very effective for increasing the viscosity of either medium. A process for the recovery of oil from a subterranean, oil-bearing formation is also described, using supercritical carbon dioxide modified with the functionalized silicone polymer. A process for extracting natural gas or oil from a bedrock-shale formation is also described, again using the modified silicone polymer.

Thickening compositions, and related materials and processes

A system and method for treatment of a medium is disclosed. The system includes a plurality of separator zones and a plurality of heat transfer zones. Each of the separator zone and the heat transfer zone among the plurality of separator zones and heat transfer zones respectively, are disposed alternatively in a flow duct. Further, each separator zone includes an injector device for injecting a sorbent into the corresponding separator zone. Within the corresponding separator zone, the injected sorbent is reacted with a gaseous medium flowing in the flow duct, so as to generate a reacted gaseous medium and a reacted sorbent. Further, each heat transfer zone exchanges heat between the reacted gaseous medium fed from the corresponding separator zone and a heat transfer medium.
