A closure clip for fastening closed a bag or similar article having a unitary, generally flat, slotted body having at least two elongated juxtaposed space-apart members. The members define at least one slot extending longitudinally between the members and the members are further shaped so that the slot has a wide, bag-gathering area located in an open end of the slot. The slot transitions from the bag-gathering area to a narrow bag-accepting area located at a closed end of the slot. The invention also includes at least one aperture located in the body spaced-apart from the members and the slot and sized to accommodate a human's finger or thumb. A closure clip is fastened and removed from the open end of a bag using arm strength and is not reliant on finger strength or dexterity making the clip particularly user friendly.

A knee brace has a pair of femoral and tibial links and a four bar joint mechanism by which a lateral side one of the femoral links is pivotally connected to a lateral side one of the tibial links and a four bar joint mechanism by which a medial side one of the femoral links is pivotally connected to a medial side one of the tibial links. Each of the joint mechanisms comprises an inner, padded, pivot plate and an outer pivot plate, each of end of which is pivotally connected at a single point to a respective one of the femoral and tibial links. Furthermore, the pad on the inner pivot plate of the medial side joint mechanism carries a spherically cupped femoral condyle pad by which the brace, generally, and the joint mechanism, specifically, can be properly positioned relative to the knee of the wearer. The locations of the pivot points for the pivot plates on the links are set in accordance with parameters which are designed to produce a multiaxis motion of a reference point which will constrain the tibia to slide rearwardly relative to the femur in an initial range of flexion of the knee from a straight leg position and then to rotate relative thereto along an arcuate path. Additionally, the angle between imaginary lines through the pivots of each pivot plate is caused to be greater than a predetermined minimum value which will insure that the joint mechanism has sufficient strength not to break apart in use due to loads which are imposed horizontally across the knee joint.

Multiaxis controlled motion knee brace with a four bar joint and method

An exerciser simulator that comprises at least two generally concave members which define a frame, each of the concave members has a first end and a second end. In addition, a rotatable member is positioned adjacent to each of the first and second ends of each of the concave members. A unidirectional, close-looped transporting chain travelling adjacent to each of the concave members is provided, the transporting chain being rotatably received by the first end rotatable member and the second end rotatable member for travelling toward a direction defined by one of the first and second ends of each of the concave members. The exerciser simulator further comprises a plurality of exercise bars each of which is fixably mounted to both of the transporting chains, the exercise bars being mounted generally normal to the transporting chains at preselected positions of the transporting chains. Each of the exerise bars is securely mounted to the transporting chains, so that the weight of a user, as he advances on the exercise bars towards a direction opposite to the defined direction of travel of the transporting chains, causes the transporting chains and the attached exercise bars to travel toward the defined direction, thereby simulating a climbing exercise.

A fuel cut-off switch is disclosed which comprises a collapsible fuel line for conveying fuel when the switch is in a first position and a device for collapsing the collapsible fuel line along at least a portion thereof to cut off fuel flow therethrough when the switch is tilted a predetermined amount from the first position. The collapsible fuel line may be in the form of a cut-off finger of rubber or plastic which is suspended for movement relative to the device for collapsing the flexible rubber finger, the latter may take the form of a ring surrounding the collapsible fuel line. A weight is attached to the collapsible fuel line for pulling it under force of gravity against the ring to collapse the finger and cut-off fuel flow therethrough.
