A utility cart includes an auxiliary swivel caster wheel assembly, a locking mechanism, and a trigger mechanism for causing the locking mechanism to releasably lock the auxiliary swivel caster wheel assembly. The auxiliary swivel caster wheel assembly is unlocked to enable the auxiliary swivel caster wheel to rotate about a vertical axis for improved maneuverability in small areas, and is locked to hold the auxiliary swivel caster wheel in a predetermined position for improved steering as the cart is moved from one location to another. The trigger mechanism is disposed on a steering handle to enable dynamic actuation of the locking mechanism while the cart is in motion.

A shelving includes two tracks, two pair of end pieces, a stationary shelving unit attached to one of the two pair of end pieces and including a plurality of posts and a shelf, a mobile shelving unit includes a plurality of posts and a shelf supported by the posts, and a plurality of wheels adapted to roll on the tracks. Each of the tracks includes a plurality of bases, each base having a rail channel on a top and a recess on a bottom, a plurality of rails disposed in the rail channel with the first rail end projecting beyond the first base end and with the second rail end being recessed from the second base end, and a coupling member disposed in the recess of the track base, joining the first base end to another base end.

A shelving system includes at least two parallel lengths of track, at least two pair of end pieces disposed on opposite ends of each of the at least two lengths of track, and a stationary shelving unit attached to one of the at least two pair of end pieces, with the stationary shelving unit including a plurality of posts and a shelf supported by the plurality of posts, and a mobile shelving unit, which includes a plurality of posts, a shelf supported by the plurality of posts, and a plurality of wheels adapted to roll on the at least two lengths of track. Each length of track includes (a) a plurality of track bases, each track base extending between a first base end and a second base end, being formed with a rail channel on a top of the track base and a recess on a bottom of the track base, and including a plurality of elongated holes extending through each of the plurality of track bases, (b) a plurality of track rails, each including a first rail end and a second rail end and being disposed in the rail channel with the first rail end projecting beyond the first base end thereby to define a rail projection and with the second rail end being recessed from the second base end thereby to cause the channel to define a rail projection socket in the track base, and (c) a coupling member disposed in the recess of the track base, the coupling member joining the first base end of one base to the second base end of another base by being fastened through a track base to at least one of the plurality of track rails.

A wall-mounted shelving system includes a track and a bracket engagable with the track. The bracket has a collar for supporting a shelf-carrying pilaster and an engaging element protruding from the collar that includes a floor and an arm projecting upwardly from the floor to define an elbow. The track is adapted to be mounted horizontally on a wall and includes a downwardly open channel at its top and an outwardly projecting ledge at its bottom. The upper extreme of the engaging element arm is received in the channel of the track while the elbow can be supported to rest on the ledge. A pilaster is adapted to then be supported in the collar through an intermediate wedge member, and shelves and other objects can be supported on the pilaster.

Wall-mounted shelving system

A shelf support system includes a sleeve or wedge member and a collar adapted to be secured to a generally cylindrical support post, that is one that is circular when viewed in radial cross-section. The sleeve has an inner surface that is configured to embrace the support post and an outer surface formed with a first axially outwardly inclined wedge portion and at least one second axially outwardly inclined wedge portion that, when viewed in such radial cross-section, extends at an angle to the first portion. Additionally, the collar is adapted to be secured to a member to be supported and to embrace the sleeve. The collar has a first wedge surface formed to mate with the first portion of the outer surface of the sleeve and at least one second wedge surface formed to mate with the second portion of the outer surface of the sleeve. Thus, when the sleeve embraces the post and the collar embraces the sleeve, axial loading of the collar in one direction causes the first wedge surface to mate with the first portion of the outer surface of the sleeve and the second wedge surface to mate with the second portion of the outer surface of the sleeve, thereby urging the sleeve toward the post in at least two generally radial directions.

A support system includes a support post and support means for adjustably supporting a member to the support post. The support means includes a locking mechanism movable between a first position for press-fitting the support means, directly or indirectly, against the support post and a second position for releasing the press-fitting. The locking mechanism has a surface that abuts the support post, or a wedge member associated with the support post, when in the first position thereby to effect the press-fitting and that is released from the support post when moved to the second position to release the press-fitting.

A support adapted for use between first and second panels at a joint includes a distal end including a flange, an anchoring end including a flange and an anchor, and an intermediate section connecting the distal end and the anchoring end. The intermediate section is shaped to mate with adjoining edges of the first and second panels.

A tray includes a compartment with a bottom surface and perimeter sidewalls, and a passive stop arrangement is provided in the compartment. The passive stop arrangement includes at least a first notch in one of the sidewalls and a stop disposed proximate to the first notch. The tray is especially useful in a tray support system including a chassis having at least two laterally-spaced and vertically oriented racks each having spaced rungs in a mirror-image relationship.
