A self-centering impact hand tool 10 has a forward tool member 14 with an elongated forward tool body 15 extending from a tool tip 17 to an anvil surface 19 at a rear end 18. The hand impact tool 10 has a plunger member 40 with an elongated forward end 44 having an anvil surface 46 for engaging the anvil surface 19. An elongated coil spring 60 has reduced diameter spring ends 64 and 66 mounted in corresponding spring latching grooves 22 and 54, respectively. Each of the members 14 and 40 have finger gripping sections 21 and 52 that are formed with a series of annular grooves 80 forming finger rings 82 for enabling the user to easily grip and hold the tool member 14 during the operation of the tool and the expansion of the coil spring prior to the release of the plunger member 40. Upon release of the plunger member, the anvil surface 46 of the forward end 44 is driven into a rear section 36 of a driving piston 33 to drive a brad, or nail or center punch rapidly and forcefully into a work surface 12. The number of rings 82 in the finger gripping section 52 is less than the number of rings 82 of in the finger gripping section 21 to minimize premature release of the forward tool member prior to the release of the plunger member 40.

Self-centering impact hand tool

An combination center punch and prick punch impact hand tool 10 has a center punch member 14 with an elongated center punch body 16 extending from a tool tip 20 to an anvil surface 24 at a rear end 22. The hand impact tool 10 has a prick punch member 40 with an elongated forward end 44 having an anvil surface 46 for engaging the anvil surface 24. An elongated coil spring 60 has reduced diameter spring ends 64 and 66 mounted in corresponding spring latching grooves 28 and 54, respectively. Each of the members 14 and 40 have finger gripping sections 26 and 52 that are formed with a series of annular grooves 80 forming finger rings 82 for enabling the user to easily grip and hold the tool member 14 during the operation of the tool and the expansion of the coil spring prior to the release of the prick punch member 40. Upon release of the prick punch member, the anvil surface 46 of the forward end 44 is driven into the anvil surface 24 with a very sharp impact. The number of rings 82 in the finger gripping section 52 is less than the number of rings 82 of in the finger gripping section 26 to minimize premature release of the center punch member prior to the release of the prick punch member 40.

Impact hand tool

A impact hand stamping tool 10 has an imprint member 14 with an elongated hand stamp element 16 slidably mounted in a supporting sleeve element 18. The hand stamp element extends from an anvil end 50 to an imprint end 46 having a symbol face 48. The hand impact tool 10 has a plunger member 70 with an elongated forward end 74 having an anvil surface 76 for engaging the anvil surface 52. An elongated coil spring 90 has reduced diameter spring ends 94 and 96 mounted in corresponding spring latching grooves 26 and 84, respectively. Each of the members 14 and 70 have finger gripping sections 26 and 84 that are formed with a series of annular grooves 100 forming finger rings 102 for enabling the user to easily grip and hold the tool member 14 during the operation of the tool and the expansion of the coil spring prior to the release of the plunger member 70. Upon release of the plunger member, the anvil surface 76 of the forward end 74 is driven into the anvil end 52 driving the hand stamp element 16 to imprint the work surface 12. The number of rings 102 in the finger gripping section 102 is less than the number of rings 102 of in the finger gripping section 24 to minimize premature release of the sleeve element prior to the release of the plunger member 70.

Impact hand stamping device

A modular electrical jack unit 40 is described having a cast frame structure 42 for supporting and aligning a plurality of jack spring switch assemblies 70, 72 and 74. The cast frame structure 42 has a sleeve section 44 and a beam section 46. The sleeve section 44 has a plurality of sleeve members 52, 54 and 56. The beam member 46 has support beams 60 and 64 that extend rearward substantially perpendicular to the sleeve section 44 at spaced intervals with the support beam 60 extending rearward between sleeve member 52 and 54 and the support beam 64 extending rearward between sleeve member 54 and 56. The jack spring switch assemblies 70, 72 and 74 are mounted on the support beams 60 and 64 with the jack spring switch assembly 72 positioned intermediate the support beams 60 and 64. The jack spring switch assemblies 70, 72 and 74 are stacked vertically aligned with each other and are aligned with sleeve members 52, 54 and 56 respectively. The support beams 60 and 64 prevent the switch assemblies from twisting and more effectively secures the switch assemblies and reduces moment forces that would otherwise deteriorate the effectiveness of the unit with extended use.

A digital telecommunication network having a digital cross-connect system is described for facilitating the installation, testing, monitoring, restoration and repair of digital telecommunication apparatus. The system includes a plurality of digital cross-connect modules. Each of the modules has an input jack, an output jack, a cross-connect input jack, a cross-connect output jack, monitor output jack, and monitor input jack mounted on a front panel. Each of the modules has an input switch for cross-connecting an input conductor with a cross-connect input conductor to interconnect the input portion of two items of digital telecommunication apparatus. Each of the modules has an output switch for cross-connecting an output conductor with a cross-connect output conductor to interconnect the output portion of the two items of digital telecommunication apparatus. Each of the switches has means for disengaging the respective conductors when a plug is inserted into a respective jack to isolate the conductor.
