An antenna system is disclosed that provides a directional radiation field. The antenna system includes at least two monopole antennas, each of which provides a differential connector. Each differential connector is associated with a signal having a different phase such that a radiation field associated with said antenna system is other than a radiation field that would exist if each differential connector were associated with the signal having the same phase.

Systems and methods for providing directional radiation fields using distributed loaded monopole antennas

A distributed load monopole antenna system is disclosed that includes a monopole antenna comprising a radiation resistance unit coupled to a transmitter base, an adjustment unit, a current enhancing unit and a conductive mid-section. The radiation resistance unit includes a radiation resistance unit base that is coupled to ground, and includes a plurality of windings of an electrically conductive material. The adjustment unit is coupled to at least one of the plurality of windings of the radiation resistance unit, and is coupled to ground for selectively adjusting an operating frequency of the antenna. The current enhancing unit is for enhancing current through the radiation resistance unit, and the conductive mid-section is intermediate the radiation resistance unit and the current enhancing unit.

Systems and methods for providing distributed load monopole antenna systems

A distributed load monopole antenna system is disclosed that includes a monopole antenna including a radiation resistance unit, a current enhancing unit, and a conductive mid-section. The radiation resistance unit is coupled to a transmitter base and the radiation resistance unit includes a radiation resistance unit base that is coupled to ground. The radiation resistance unit also includes a plurality of windings of an electrically conductive material wherein each winding includes an elongated portion that is substantially parallel with an elongated central axis of the monopole antenna. The elongated portions are positioned at a plurality of angularly disposed locations around the elongated central axis of the monopole antenna. The current enhancing unit is for enhancing current through the radiation resistance unit, and the conductive mid-section is intermediate the radiation resistance unit and the current enhancing unit.

An antenna system is disclosed that includes a base section to which a signal connector may be attached, and a radiating section distal from said base section. The radiating section includes a flexible electrically conductive material and an adjustment system for changing a length of the electrically conductive material responsive to a control signal.

System and method for tuning a monopole antenna

A method of operating a distributed loaded antenna system including a monopole antenna is disclosed. The method includes the steps of providing a radiation resistance unit coupled to a transmitter base, providing a current enhancing unit coupled to the radiation resistance unit via a conductive midsection; providing transmission signal energy to the radiation resistance unit, and distributing the transmission signal energy through the current enhancing unit.

System and method for providing a distributed loaded monopole antenna

A distributed loaded antenna system including a monopole antenna is disclosed. The antenna system includes a radiation resistance unit coupled to a transmitter base, a current enhancing unit for enhancing current through the radiation resistance unit, and a conductive mid-section intermediate the radiation resistance unit and the current enhancing unit. The conductive mid-section has a length that provides that a sufficient average current is provided over the length of the antenna.
