A waste fluid collection container, which includes a tray having a floor defined by a periphery, where the floor has a plurality of raised flow enhancing areas and a fluid absorbing member that sits inside the tray. In embodiments, the raised areas are elongated ridges extending outwardly from a central area. In other embodiments, the raised areas are a plurality of studs.

A storage container for temporarily storing an ink jet printhead cartridge during periods of non-use, the container including an improved nozzle capping mechanism which permits a variable range of forces to be applied to obtain the necessary sealing. The membrane is characterized by having, on one surface, a ribbed section which encircles the nozzle area to form a sealing perimeter. The other surface of the membrane has a shallow recess formed beneath the ribbed section, the recess providing for inward deflection along the ribbed area, the ribbed section maintaining an effective seal throughout a deflectable range. The arrangement solves a prior art problem of membrane buckling when excessive force is applied.

Storage container for an ink jet printhead cartridge

A transfer blade apparatus for ironing a sheet against the photoreceptor belt during transfer, and smoothing out deformities which cause deletions is disclosed. The transfer blades include a flexible tip to absorb the impact of the blade as it contacts paper, and a spring load to limit and control the force applied to the sheet. Sensors are also utilized to monitor and adjust the timing of the blades.

An apparatus is described which records an electrostatic latent image on a charger receiver. The apparatus includes a module which includes a bracket upon which a corona generating device is removably mounted. The bracket is also adapted to pivot so as to facilitate removal of the photoconductive member from the module.

Photoreceptor removal mechanism for a printing machine

An apparatus which advances a sheet through a transfer zone and into registration with information developed on a moving member. The sheet is advanced to a position wherein a leading portion thereof is immediately ahead of the transfer zone relative to the forward direction of movement of the moving member and a trailing portion thereof is within the transfer zone. The leading portion of the sheet forms a presentation angle of 7-10 degrees with the horizontal. The trailing portion of the sheet is advanced through the transfer zone at a first velocity and the leading edge of the sheet is advanced in a region immediately ahead of the transfer zone at a second velocity, which is less than the first velocity, so as to create a buckle in the leading portion of the sheet positioned immediately ahead of the transfer zone relative to the forward direction of movement of the moving member. The buckle functions to eliminate relative velocity between the photoconductive belt and any portion of sheet within the transfer zone so as to substantially eliminate slip between the sheet and the photoconductive belt.

A developer transport apparatus includes a rotatable auger to transport developer along its length from a developer entry to a developer delivery end and transport means at the delivery end and under the rotatable transport auger to transport developer away from the delivery end with the toner auger being contained within a stationary cylindrical containment tube extending the length of the auger, the tube being cut away at the bottom portion of the delivery end of the auger to permit toner to be delivered to the transport. The developer auger has an antibridging device at its delivery end which is a flexible paddle wheel mounted through the shaft of the auger and rotatable therewith. The flexible paddle wheel has a length grater than the diameter of the containment tube whereby upon rotation of the auger the paddle wheel is first deformed by the top portion of the containment tube at the delivery end of the auger with the storage of energy therein and the subsequent release of energy when the deformed paddle is rotated through the cut away portion of the containment tube. In a preferred embodiment the paddle wheel is made of two thin solid planar members in abutment and offset axially to each other such that on rotation the leading edge is the longer of the two members.

Developer transport apparatus

An apparatus and method for developing an electrostatic latent image on an imaging member wherein a development nip is formed between a rotatably mounted cylindrical developer roll and the imaging member. The nip is initially supplied with a wedge shaped layer of developer material to develop the electrostatic latent image on the imaging member. Periodically at stated intervals the developer material is collected from the developer roll and development nip and the same measured amount of developer material is resupplied to the development nip. The apparatus includes a developer material supply means comprising a developer material hopper having a dispensing aperture at the bottommost portion thereof adjacent the developer roll, a movable dispensing slide in operative association with the developer material hopper, the slide having in succession a solid portion for sealing association with the aperture in the hopper, an aperture for dispensing association with the aperture in the hopper and the cleaning doctor blade for cleaning engagement with the developer roll to collect developer material in the pile as the slide is movable back and forth from sealing association with the hopper aperture and for cleaning the developer roll.
