A purge air system is disclosed. The system provides a common source of a periodic flow of dry air and a continuous flow of dry air for delivery to a plurality of remote control boxes containing electronic components. The purge air system includes a common cabinet which houses a dryer connected to receive air from an inlet for removal of moisture from the air, a continuous flow outlet connected to receive dry air from the dryer, a periodic flow outlet connected to receive dry air from the dryer to provide a source of periodic flow of dry air, and a periodic flow valve connected to regulate the flow of dry air from the dryer to the periodic flow outlet. Conduits connect the outlets to the remote control boxes. The periodic flow valve may be controlled by an adjustable timer, to provide a cyclical flow of dry air for periods of from one to thirty seconds followed by non-flow periods of from about one to sixty minutes. Pre-filters may be employed to pretreat the air prior to entrance into the dryer.

Purge air system

A method of separating from ruminant animal feces the undigested fibrous material that is preponderantly short pieces which consist of bundles of capillary tubes. The feces are mixed with urine, water from animal washing and preparation for milking, and with other water if needed, to form a homogeneous slurry which is run through tandem perforate drum and roller squeezers that heavily compress the short pieces to express liquid from them while continuously draining off a filtrate of liquid and fine solids which is ultimately put into a pond for use as liquid fertilizer. This leaves a filter mass which is preponderantly the short pieces. The filter mass is mixed with clean water to form a suspension which is run through tandem perforate cylinder roller pressers that compress the short pieces under several times heavier pressure to produce a cleansed filter mass and a filtrate which is combined with the original slurry. The cleansed filter mass is excellent bedding which is substantially odorless and effectively free of harmful bacteria.

Method of processing cattle excrement

A milker with a milk receiving chamber for suspension beneath a cow has teat cups connected therewith for attachment to the cow's teats. A pulsation vacuum manifold, connected with the teat cups, is mounted to the cover of the milk receiving chamber by a coil spring, to accommodate movement of the cow. The manifold movement is limited by connecting the pulsation hose and the milk hose together.
