Non-silicone urea-based adhesives are disclosed which are prepared by the polymerization of reactive oligomers with the general formula X&#x2014;B&#x2014;X, where X is an ethylenically unsaturated group and B is a unit free of silicone and containing urea groups. The reactive oligomers can be prepared from polyamines through chain extension reactions using diaryl carbonates followed by capping reactions. Adhesive articles, including optical adhesive articles may be prepared using the disclosed non-silicone urea-based adhesives.

A method of applying optical film to a large format display panel is described. The method utilizes optical film () that has been pre-cut to cover a given area of the panel, such that the film does not need to be cut or trimmed after it is adhered to the panel. The method is suitable for use with large format display panels such as those having viewable areas of 208 cm (82 inches) diagonal.

A method, apparatus, and kit adapted for installation over windows or the like. Included is a window film frame assembly that comprises a frame having a plurality of frame segments and a plurality of connector members. Pressure-sensitive adhesive strips are attached to one side of the frame and serve to attach a generally flexible film sheet structure thereto. The film sheet structure is provided so as to conform to the shape of the frame across the frame opening. The film sheet structure does not have an exterior surface coated with an adhesive material.

Herein are disclosed apparatus and methods that can be used to receive a volume of potable water from a source and to treat the volume of water so as to improve the perceived or actual aesthetic quality of the water, and to thereafter contain the treated water such that it can be used or consumed. In general, the apparatus comprises a container capable of receiving a volume of water, and a capture element within the container that is capable of removing at least a portion of such substances in the water as may be perceived as impacting water quality. The capture element comprises sorbent media that is capable of removing at least some portion of such undesirable substances, and that may comprise, for example, activated carbon and the like.

Filter assemblies are disclosed that include a pleated web in which the pleats are connected to each other to provide support for the filter media during use. The interconnected pleats preferably form an array of openings facing the upstream side of the filter assembly when subjected to fluid pressure during use. In addition, the preferred filter media also includes an array of pockets located behind each of the points at which the pleats are connected. By connecting the pleats to form arrays of openings and pockets during use, the filter assemblies provide a structure that deforms in a predetermined, acceptable manner without the need for external support structure to support the pleats.

Pleated filter

A simplified attachment for a mailbox which alerts the mailbox addressee that mail has been delivered. The attachment includes a signal flag mounted on a spring activated spool rotatably secured within a housing affixed to the side of the mailbox. When the mailbox door is closed, the upper end of the signal flag is held under tension in a horizontal position by a keeper mounted on the door of the mailbox. When the mailbox door is opened, the signal flag is released from its horizontal position and, powered by the spring, rises to a vertical position above the mailbox to alert the addressee that the mail has arrived.
