Systems and methods for correcting experienced EM fields measured at each of one or more EM trackers of an EM tracking system as such measurements are influenced by a known distorter are disclosed herein. An EM emitter may transmit an EM field such that it contains the one or more EM trackers. The system then determines a pose of a distorter within the EM field. The system receives, from each EM tracker, data representing experienced EM fields as distorted by a distortion field caused by the distorter. The system proceeds to determine the distortion field using the pose and a model comprising one or more characteristics of the distorter. The system may first optimize the model. The system calculates data representing corresponding corrected experienced EM fields based on each respective experienced EM field and the determined distortion field at the same location.

Electromagnetic distortion corrections for known distorters

Devices, systems, and methods used to register medical image data with anatomical positions are disclosed. The image data is captured by an imaging system over a period of time. The positions are determined by a tracking system over the period of time. The positions are averaged to determine an average position of the anatomy, which is then used for registration of the image data with the anatomy. Registration based on the average position can then be used to enhance the quality of 3D images of the anatomy, as well as to improve navigation for a surgical procedure.

Systems and methods for medical imagery enhancement by use of image guidance system

Devices, systems, and methods used to register medical image data with anatomical positions are disclosed. The image data is captured by an imaging system over a period of time. The positions are determined by one or more modalities over the period of time. The positions are collected into position data, and determinations are made as to which position data is best for registering the image data with patient anatomy and for reconstructing 3D images of the patient anatomy.
