A vehicle includes a rear lamp display configured to display images as well as perform the usual functions of a rear lamp assembly. The rear lamp display may include a light source and a digital mirror device. Obstacles detected may trigger display of a static or animated representation of the obstacle in the rear lamp display. Detection of a turn may invoke display of a direction of the turn as well as text indicating a target of the turn. Detection of an intervention of a vehicle system to maintain stability, a warning may be displayed that indicates potentially hazardous road conditions. Where opening of a door is detected, a representation of an open or opening door may be displayed. Where a following vehicle is detected, the speed limit or cruising speed of the vehicle may be displayed. Objects left in the vehicle may trigger display of an alert.

A motor vehicle according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a sensor, a headlamp, and a controller configured to adjust an aim of the headlamp based on a signal from the sensor. The controller is configured to account for a zero drift of the sensor. A method is also disclosed.

Headlamp leveling system and method

Method, apparatus, and computer storage media are disclosed for headlight setting activation via a stalk switch. An example vehicle includes a stalk switch and a headlamp controller. The example headlamp controller is to monitor the stalk switch and detect, in response to identifying the stalk switch is transitioning to a high-beam position, a number of occurrences the stalk switch is set at the high-beam position in a predetermined time period. Also, the example headlamp controller is to activate, in response to determining the number of occurrences is two, a first headlight setting of headlamps.

A sliding vane pump includes a passageway that fluidly connects one or more pumping chambers to a side chamber. The passageway pressurizes the side chamber. This fluid pressure exerts a force that counteracts the force caused by pressure differences between the outlet pumping chambers and the inlet pumping chambers. At high speed, part of the side chamber is pressurized by the smallest volume outlet pumping chamber while another portion of the side chamber is pressurized by the largest volume outlet chamber. This results in a force counteracting an uncommanded displacement decrease of the pump.

A plurality of segments of a predetermined route are identified based on a plurality of transition points. A setting of at least one of a plurality of vehicle subsystems is adjusted according to an assigned operating mode when a vehicle enters one of the segments. The vehicle subsystems are actuated according to the assigned operating mode. The assigned operating mode is one of a plurality of operating modes. Each operating mode includes at least one predetermined setting for each one of the vehicle subsystems. The predetermined settings are defined according to data collected from operation of the vehicle in the route by a user.

A vehicle includes a controller, in communication with a vehicle keypad and at least one key fob authorized to access the vehicle. The controller may be configured to enter a keypad programming mode responsive to receipt of a predefined sequence including button presses of fob controls of the at least one key fob; receive a personal code entered to the keypad; and store the personal code for comparison with keypad input of a user requesting to unlock the vehicle. The controller may also receive input to the keypad; and provide keypad access to vehicle unlock functionality when the input matches a personal code stored to the controller during a keypad programming mode previously entered responsive to receipt of a predefined sequence including button presses of fob controls of the at least one key fob.

An interior lighting system for an automotive vehicle include a first light in a first zone a second light in a second zone, and a controller illuminating the lights in a sequence including a first welcome stage, a second welcome stage, and ambient stage, and a farewell stage. The stages are defined by an operating cycle of the vehicle as determined by conditions such as vehicle entry system status, door open/closed status, and ignition status. The colors and intensities of the lights varies throughout the stages to provide both adequate task illumination and attractive lighting to provide sophisticated vehicle interior illumination that is well harmonized with the various Stages of occupant ingress and egress.

In at least one embodiment, an ambient lighting system comprising a lighting module and a controller is provided. The lighting module is configured to drive a light emitting device (LED) arrangement to display a desired ambient color in response to a lighting control signal and to transmit a lighting status signal providing diagnostic information for one of the lighting module and the LED arrangement. The controller is configured to transmit the lighting control signal including first digital data indicative of the desired ambient color and a feed signal for powering the lighting module on a bi-directional data communication bus between the controller and the lighting module. The controller is further configured to receive the lighting status signal on the bi-directional data communication bus.

A first pump includes inner and outer intermeshing rotors, the outer rotor formed with external gear teeth. A second pump includes inner and outer meshing rotors, the outer rotor of the second pump having teeth continually engaged with the external teeth of the first pump outer rotor. The inner and outer rotors are formed with mutually intermeshing lobes that define between them pumping chambers through which hydraulic fluid is moved from a suction inlet to a pressurized outlet. A third pumping element includes pumping chambers located in the spaces between the intermeshing involute gear teeth on the outer rotors of the first and second pumps. A passage plate defines suction and pressure passages, which carry hydraulic fluid from a reservoir or sump to outlet ports, through which fluid is supplied to the hydraulic system.
