Various apparatus, e.g., braces or supports, and methods for stabilizing a shoulder and/or arm of a subject are provided herein. In certain variations, a shoulder stabilization apparatus includes one or more inelastic, non-stretchable and/or rigid components which restrict or limit various types of shoulder and/or arm motion, e.g., abduction. The shoulder stabilization apparatus may include various accessory straps which restrict or limit various types of shoulder and/or arm motion.

Shoulder stabilization apparatus and methods

A bootless ankle brace for treating an injured ankle. The brace includes a body panel, two stabilizing straps, and a binding strap. The user's foot is inserted into the body panel so that the body panel is located just above the ankle. The outside (lateral) stabilizing strap is brought forward across top of the foot and under the heel and secured to the opposite side of the ankle. This process is repeated with the inside (medial) stabilizing strap. Once both straps are secured, they are both tensioned (using finger loops) and re-secured to the side of the body panel. The ankle brace is secured by wrapping and securing an elastic cuff around the body panel.

Bootless ankle brace

A hinge brace for supporting and restricting the range of motion of a patient's joint and methods of using the brace. The hinge brace includes a hinge with a first setting arm and second setting arm, corresponding, respectively, to a maximum angle of extension and maximum angle of flexion of the joint. The hinge can be adjusted using a single hand or finger. The hinge can be fitted to a variety of patients by using a telescopic extension mechanism.

Post operative hinge brace

A sling with straps configured in a manner similar to those of a backpack. The sling includes a waist strap connected at one end to an anterior portion of the sling pouch and at a second end to a posterior second portion of the sling pouch. The sling include first and second straps that are worn over respective shoulders of the body. One of the straps is connected at one end a first end of the pouch and at an opposite end to a second (opposite) end of the pouch. The second strap is connected at one end to the first end of the pouch and at an opposite end to the waist strap. The sling can also include an abduction pillow.

Arm sling with backpack straps

A fitted hinge brace for supporting a joint that employs a flexible over-molding over hinge arms. The over-molded hinge brace dynamically conforms to the shape of the wearer in real-time, working with the wearer's body to provide comfortable support. The hinge brace includes first and second cuffs with flexible over-molding formed over medial and lateral hinges. The medial and lateral hinges each include a hinge arm and a hinge plate with geared portion. The geared portions of the medial hinge plate of the first cuff fit between the geared portions of the medial hinge plate of the second cuff, and the geared portions of the lateral hinge plate of the first cuff fit between the geared portions of the lateral hinge plate of the second cuff.
