A screening machine for a fiber suspension includes a vessel; a rotor disposed within the vessel; and a screen plate positioned in stationary opposition to the rotor. The screen plate includes a plurality of substantially parallel first grooves extending in a first direction and a plurality of substantially parallel second grooves extending in a second direction. The first grooves intersect with the second grooves. The first grooves and the second grooves conjunctively define a plurality of lands and depressions. A plurality of the lands and a plurality of the depressions include a through-hole extending through the screen plate.

A device treats a fiber stock suspension with at least one additive, the fiber stock suspension being used for production of at least one of paper and cardboard. The fiber stock suspension includes a suspension medium and a fiber material. The fiber material has fiber surfaces, the fiber surfaces being moistened by the suspension medium. The device includes a fluffer having an inlet for receiving at least one of the fiber stock suspension and the at least one additive. The fluffer is coupled to the inlet, the fluffer being configured for separating the fiber material and enlarging a specific surface of the fiber surfaces.

A stock preparation system includes a stock preparation apparatus and a sensor coupled with the stock preparation apparatus. The sensor is configured for sensing a physical parameter associated with the stock preparation apparatus, and includes a wireless transmitter for transmitting an air-borne wireless output signal corresponding to the sensed physical parameter. A remote unit includes a receiver for receiving the wireless output signal and a first data link for transmitting a remote output signal corresponding to the wireless output signal. A base unit includes a second data link at least intermittently coupled with the first data link for receiving the remote output signal. The base unit is configured for at least one of: analyzing the remote output signal; transmitting a state notification to the remote unit via the second data link and the first data link corresponding to a state of the sensed physical parameter; transmitting a price quote to the remote unit via the second data link and the first data link; and transmitting a shipment notification to the remote unit via the second data link and the first data link indicating a part has been shipped.

A screening apparatus for screening acceptable and rejectable material from a pressurized fiber suspension includes a housing and a rotor within the housing. The rotor has a top end. A screen basket is positioned generally concentrically around the rotor. A rotor blade ring is connected to the top end of the rotor and rotates with the rotor. A stationary defibering ring is positioned adjacent to the rotor blade ring.

Channel pulper

A paper machine includes a traveling belt for carrying a fiber web, and a cutting device disposed below the belt for cutting the fiber web into smaller pieces. The cutting device has an inlet and an outlet. A guiding device guides the fiber web from the belt to the inlet of the cutting device. A pulper is connected with the outlet of the cutting device for receiving the smaller pieces of fiber web from the cutting device. The traveling belt may be in the form of, e.g., a wire, felt or water impervious belt. The cutting device may be in the form of, e.g., a shredder, fluffer, water jet cutter, laser cutter and/or roll cutter.

An apparatus for continuously loading fibers in a fiber suspension with a chemical compound includes a deflocculating vessel having an interior chamber, a fluid inlet connected with the interior chamber, a fluid outlet connected with the interior chamber, and a high shear imparting device disposed within the interior chamber for imparting high shear forces to and thereby deflocculating the fiber suspension. A mixing container has an interior compartment, a fluid inlet connected with both the interior compartment and the fluid outlet of the deflocculating vessel, a fluid outlet connected with the interior compartment, and a low shear imparting device within the interior compartment for imparting low shear forces to the fiber suspension. A gas supply is connected with the interior chamber of the deflocculating vessel and/or the interior compartment of the mixing container. The gas supply is configured for supplying a gas to and pressurizing each of the deflocculating vessel and the mixing container.

A washing system for washing a fiber suspension associated with a fiber stock preparation system, includes a plurality of rolls and a porous fabric carried by the plurality of rolls in a closed loop. The closed loop includes a lower run defining a washing zone, with the porous fabric moving in a running direction through the washing zone. The porous fabric has an upper surface in the washing zone which carries the fiber suspension thereon. A headbox is positioned with the closed loop and above the porous fabric at an upstream end of the washing zone. The headbox discharges a fiber suspension to be washed onto the upper surface of the porous fabric. An accept removal device is positioned within the closed loop and above the porous fabric at a downstream end of the washing zone. A plurality of showers, each having an inlet, are positioned within the closed loop and above the porous fabric in the washing zone between the headbox and accept removal device. A plurality of dewatering elements are positioned below the fabric in the washing zone. Each dewatering elements is configured for removing water from a bottom surface of the porous fabric. An effluent tank has a plurality of compartments, with each compartment having an inlet and an outlet. At least one outlet of the effluent tank is connected with a corresponding shower inlet. A plurality of drainage pans are positioned below the lower run of the porous fabric. Each drainage pan is associated with at least one dewatering element and has an outlet. Each drainage pan outlet is connected with a corresponding effluent tank inlet.

Washing system and washer for a fiber suspension

A pulper in a stock preparation system includes a housing with a fiber inlet, at least one water inlet, at least one outlet and an inner chamber. A plurality of stationary pulping foils are attached to the housing and extend into the inner chamber. A rotatable shaft assembly extends through the inner chamber. The shaft assembly includes a shaft, an auger positioned around the shaft and relative to the fiber inlet and a plurality of movable pulping foils carried by and extending from the shaft. A conical valve is positioned in association with the outlet and is selectively movable to open and close the outlet.

Pulper for a stock preparation system

An apparatus providing process water used for making or processing a fiber suspension includes a multi-compartment tank with a top, a bottom wall, and a plurality of exterior sidewalls. Each compartment has an inlet positioned near the top, an outlet positioned near the bottom wall, and at least one intervening wall common with an adjacent compartment. Each intervening wall has a height defining an overflow weir whereby the compartments are arranged with sequentially decreasing maximum fluid levels. Each intervening wall also has a backflow device positioned near the bottom wall. The backflow device is selectively openable to allow flow from one compartment to an adjacent compartment in a direction opposite to a flow direction over the corresponding overflow weir.
