The retainer for securing a musical instrument string to a body of a musical instrument includes a first casing portion defining a first opening and a ball-end chamber therein. The first opening is located at a proximal end of the retainer and a second casing portion is located at a distal end of the first casing portion. The second casing portion defines a passageway from the ball-end chamber to a second opening located at a distal end of the retainer. The passageway length is greater than the ball-end chamber length, and the ball-end chamber width is greater the passageway width.

Musical instrument string ferrule tubes

A tongue depressor includes a handle that can be grasped and held within a user's hand. An elongated implement is connected to a distal end of the handle and protrudes forwardly therefrom. A light source is situated to an interior of the handle and is proximally adjoined to the implement. The light source faces outwardly from the handle and emits light along a length of the implement. A power supply source is coupled to the light source. The light source is adaptable between on and off modes. A base member includes a grooved portion extending through a top surface thereof that receives and stores the handle therein. A recessed depression is formed adjacent to the grooved portion. A rack is positional into the recessed depression and is provided with notches that receive and support new implements therein.

Illuminable tongue depressor assembly

The present invention relates to a laminated article and a method for making the article. An imageable film is printed on a first side with an image created in a computer. The image can be black and white or color. The imageable film can be transparent or white. The image containing film is then overlaid with a transparent laminate layer to protect the image from weather, abrasion and wear. A colored substrate may be applied on a second side of the imageable film to create a colored sign. The colored substrate may also be used to introduce special effects to the appearance of the finished laminated article.

Easy laminated sign manufacture

An exposure system for light sensitive materials held in a vacuum frame includes an electrical light source and a power supply to the light source, the power supply having a power consumption monitor so it can modify the power supplied to the light source to compensate for any fluctuations in power consumption by the light. The light source is supported in a housing having air exhaust openings proximate the mid-portion of the light source. A blower cools the light source with a helical airflow. The voltage drop across the electrical light source is used to control the speed of the blower to maintain the voltage of the light source at a desired level. The housing has an open face and a removable pane. An indicator indicates the presence of the pane. A metal shutter in the housing has a black ceramic surface adjacent the light source to selectively expose light sensitive materials. A control means closes the shutter when the indicator senses removal of the pane while power is being supplied to the light source. The control means includes a timer to hold the shutter closed for a period of time after the switch is opened, long enough to permit cooling of the light source and opens the shutter after expiration of the period. It also actuates the blower during the period to hasten the cooling of the light source. The control unit to control operating parameters of a plurality of subsystem units of the exposure system includes an electronic memory unit and means responsive to signals stored in the electronic memory unit to control variables. The control lines of the control unit and the subsystem units have a plurality of physically equivalent, but electrically unique, pin socket outputs each having a plurality of electrical leads. A plurality of cables having physically and electrically identical terminations are provided, so that any of the cables may be used to connect a pin socket of the control unit to a pin socket of a subsystem unit. The control unit includes a keyboard input to the memory storage means of variables to be stored. The keyboard includes function keys to select the variable to be assigned a value and numeric keys to assign a numeric value to a selected numeric variable.

Exposure system

A vacuum frame for exposing a light-sensitive sheet to a light pattern according to a negative includes a blanket frame having peripherally bonded thereto a platen and a blanket with the platen being bowable and the blanket being flexible. The platen and blanket are peripherally sealingly bonded to one another, forming a vacuum chamber therebetween. A light transmissive frame mounted to the blanket frame for movement toward and away from the blanket and a spacing and sealing means peripherally interposed between the blanket and the light transmissive frame when the light transmissive frame is moved toward the blanket define an exposure chamber with the blanket. The exposure chamber is adapted to receive a light sensitive sheet and negative. A first vacuum inlet means connects the vacuum chamber to an evacuation means, and a second vacuum inlet means connects the exposure chamber to an evacuation means. A control means evacuates the vacuum chamber to hold the blanket to the platen and evacuates the exposure chamber while said blanket is held to said platen. When the vacuum in the exposure chamber reaches a high level, the platen bows, center-first, toward the light transmissive frame, forcing the blanket toward the light transmissive frame and forcing an interposed light sensitive sheet and negative into air-bubble-free contact with the light transmissive frame.

A high intensity discharge ballast that provides instant restrike of hot high intensity lamps, rapid warm-up and normal ballasting functions so as to circumvent the deficiencies of heating and cooling cycles in high intensity discharge lamps which cycles are unacceptable in special applications such as graphic arts and stadium lighting.
