A method of adjusting a position of a blank entering a furnace includes measuring a position of a heated blank exiting the furnace, recording one or more offset values from a nominal value of the heated blank exiting the furnace, calculating a revised position of a subsequent blank entering the furnace as a function of the one or more offset values, and adjusting a position of the subsequent blank entering the furnace as a function of the one or more offset values. The position of the heated blank exiting the furnace can be measured with an electronic vision system, a robot can adjust the position of the subsequent blank, and offset value(s) can be an elapsed furnace operation time, a number of heated blanks that have exited the furnace, and a physical dimension between an actual position of the heated blank and the nominal value of the heated blank.

System and method for heating metal blanks

There is presented a system for determining a placement of a virtual object in a performance space according to a performance by a real-time performer. The disclosed system comprises a projection module including a polarizing filter, the projection module configured to generate a polarized visible image corresponding to the virtual object. The system includes a surface for displaying the polarized visible image to the real-time performer. The system also includes a detection module for detecting inputs to the surface, wherein the inputs are provided by the real-time performer based on a location of the polarized visible image on the surface. The system further comprises a mapping module configured for mapping a location of each input to the surface to a corresponding point in the performance space, for the placement of the virtual object in the performance space according to the locations of inputs to the surface by the real-time performer.

There is presented a system for recording a performance by a real-time performer interacting with a virtual object. The disclosed system comprises a projection module including a polarizing filter, the projection module configured to generate a polarized visible image corresponding to the virtual object. The system includes a surface for displaying the polarized visible image, the surface viewable by the real-time performer. The system also includes a recording module including a reverse-polarizing filter, the reverse-polarizing filter configured to reverse-polarize images of the performance by the real-time performer and the surface displaying the polarized visible image to produce reverse-polarized images. The recording module is configured to record the reverse-polarized images. In one embodiment, the system further comprises a rendering module configured to render the virtual object into the recorded performance.

System and method for synchronizing a real-time performance with a virtual object

Method and identification system to keep track of individual pills dispensed to patients in a hospital by scanning a machine readable code assigned to each pill individually. The pills may be individually within single-pill containers. Inventory levels may be adjusted based on the scanning. Prior to dispensing the pills, a verification check may be performed.

Pill printing and identification

A composite material panel having alternating layers of wood veneer with recycled or waste material. The layers are sandwiched together. The technique involves forming the composite material layer by layer and employing materials in each layer that are suited to satisfy requirements for specific kinds of construction. The layer of recycled or waste material is preferably flexible and has memory. A portable apparatus that includes fan and a harness adapted to permit the fan to be hung from a harness in a self-supported position on the wearer and which permits relocation of the fan to vary the distance of the fan from the neck of the wearer. The harness includes a cord that is looped about the wearer's neck and which passes through an adjustable coupler, whose sidewalls are configured and arranged to deform in response to squeezing forces. In response to the sidewalls being squeezed, the adjustable coupler releases the cord to permit simultaneous relative movement of the adjustable coupler along the cord. In response to removal of the squeezing forces, the adjustable coupler resiliently returns to its undeformed condition, grasping the cord to prevent relative movement of the adjustable coupler.
