An example first Internet of Things (IoT) device includes at least one processor to execute instructions to access a first message transmitted by a second IoT device, the first IoT device and second IoT device communicatively coupled via a direct communication, identify that the first message is indicative of an administrative event, the administrative event associated with a function of one or more of the first IoT device or the second IoT device, update a status of a system of IoT devices based on the administrative event, the system of IoT devices including the first IoT device and the second IoT device, and send a second message indicative of the administrative event to a universal bus.

Distributed communication between internet of things devices

Apparatus, method and computer readable medium associated with autonomous/semi-autonomous driving are disclosed herein. In embodiments, an apparatus for autonomous/semi-autonomous driving may comprise a management system to be disposed in an autonomous/semi-autonomous vehicle. The management system may include a reservation subsystem to receive, from a cloud server, a reservation of the autonomous or semi-autonomous vehicle for a passenger or a driver, and an access control subsystem to control access to the autonomous or semi-autonomous vehicle that includes a trust function to gain trust of the passenger or driver with respect to the passenger or driver's data privacy requirements will be met, when the passenger or driver attempts to exercise the reservation. In embodiments, an apparatus for natural machine conversing with a user may comprise a listening component to detect a keyword that denotes start of a conversation; a dialogue engine to converse with the user during the conversation; and a controller to selectively activate or cause to be activated one of the listening component or the dialogue component, and to pass control to the activated listening component or the activated dialogue engine, based at least in part on a state of the conversation. Natural machine conversing method and apparatus

Particular embodiments described herein provide for an electronic device that can be configured to receive a verbal command to active a device with an unknown label, derive a probable device and a label for the probable device, activate the probable device, determine that the activated probable device is the same device to be activated by the verbal command, and store the label and a description for the device. In some examples, the label is associated with the description.

Device identification through dialog

Technologies for a distributed Internet of Things (IoT) system including a plurality of IoT devices are disclosed. An example IoT device includes an input device to receive an input from a user and a processor to determine if a pattern is recognized in the input. The example IoT device also includes a communication circuit to: in response to a determination that a pattern is not recognized in the input, communicate a first message indicative of the input over a universal bus; and in response to a determination that a pattern is recognized in the input, communicate a second message indicative of the input directly to another IoT device without using the universal bus.

Technologies for a distributed Internet of Things (IoT) system are disclosed. Several IoT devices may form a peer-to-peer network without requiring a central server. Information may be stored in a distributed manner in the distributed IoT system, allowing for storing information without transmitting it to a remote server, which may be costly and introduce security or privacy risks. Each IoT device of the distributed IoT system includes a machine learning algorithm that is capable of uncovering patterns in the input of the distributed IoT system, such as a pattern of user inputs in certain situations, and the distributed IoT system may adaptively anticipate a user's intentions.

Embodiments are directed to receiving a speech signal representative of audible speech, processing the speech signal to interpret the speech signal by a dialog system implemented at least partially in hardware, determining, by the dialog system, that the speech signal cannot be correctly interpreted, receiving a noise signal representative of audible background noise, identifying a noise level from the noise signal, determining, by the dialog system, that the noise level is too high for the speech signal to be correctly interpreted, and providing, by the dialog system, a message indicating that the noise level is too high for the speech signal to be correctly interpreted.
